Martial adept and battle master

I have a battle master who took martial adept for a couple extra maneuvers. He is level 5, so his base superiority die is d8.
So my question is this: can he use his regular sup dice to power the maneuvers he gained from the rest? Or does he have to use the die gained with the feat?

Yes, he can use any superiority die with any maneuver.

The thing that bugs me is that this doesn't apply to Psionic Dice (https://twitter.com/JeremyECrawford/status/1331690537791803394?s=20) (which you can get from two different classes).
