The avatar also has gains skill points for every champion level (but not for levels in other classes) and has a different set of class skills than the champion's regular form. The avatar has one feat for every 3 character levels the champion has (regardless of the class). These may be feats he has in his normal form or they may be any feat he qualifies for by virtue of the avatar's ability scores; the avatar gains another feat whenever the champion reaches a character level divisible by three. The avatar has its own base attack bonus and base saving throws, based solely on the champion's class level (that is, attack and save bonuses from other classes or monster Hit Dice do not add to the avatar's values).
How meny feats does the avatar have at 10th level? 3, 4, 6 or 7?

If the champion has 10 character levels, the avatar has three feats: One for the champion's 3rd, 6th, and 9th levels.

The two things you bolded in your quote are equivalent; they're both explaining the same thing. So, 3rd level gets a feat, 6th gets a feat, 9th gets a feat, etc. The net effect of this is that he has one feat for every 3 levels.

Then why did he state bouth?

Then why did he state bouth?Because the avatar continues to gain feats as the champion levels. The first part you bolded shows how many feats the avatar has when you first take the class, the second bolded part shows when the avatar gains additional feats.

What happoned to the first level feat?Since it's not mentioned, the avatar doesn't get a feat for the champion's first level. I can't tell you precisely why; you'd have to ask Rich why he made the class the way he did.
