My, oh my, what a strange thing I've done. I went and got inspired by the Insectile template to make a class. And of all places to look for a place to start, I ended up at Dragon Shaman.
I figure it should work with or without the Insectile template, but still be worth it for both.

Start with Dragon Shaman and make these changes.
D12 becomes D10.
¾ BAB becomes Full BAB.

Crawling Aura is identical to Draconic Aura.
Totem Dragon is removed.
Skill Focus is removed.
Draconic Adaptation is replaced by Insectile Adaptation.
Effect: Fuse Arms (Su) or Arms of Plenty (Su), at will. Once the choice is made it cannot be changed.
Breath Weapon is replaced by Feeder Cloud.
Effect: A directed cloud of predatory insects deals 2d6 points of damage, plus an extra 1d6 points of damage for every two additional class levels (3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 8th level, and so forth). A successful Reflex save halves the damage dealt; the save DC is equal to 10 + 1/2 your Hive Host level + your Con modifier. Half the damage dealt returns to the Hive Host as temporary hit points.
A cone-shaped cloud extend out to 15 feet at 4th level, increasing to 30 feet at 12th level and to 60 feet at 20th level. A line-shaped cloud is 30 feet long at 4th level, increasing to 60 feet at 12th level and to 120 feet at 20th level. Feeder Cloud counts as a breath weapon for the purpose of metabreath feats.
Energy Immunity is removed.
Draconic wings becomes Insect Wings.
Molting
Gain an Insect based ability from a list. Each ability can only be chosen once.
Potential abilities for the list:
Powerful Build
Slight Build
Scintillating Scales (Ex), always on
Massive Crawling Aura; Double the bonuses from Crawling Aura.
Massive Feeder Cloud; Double the number of dice in the Feeder Cloud ability.
Displacing Drones; Summon a cloud of insects that obscure your position. Gain a 50% miss chance on incoming attacks.
Gain an additional pair of arms.
