There are a lot of text colours, and as a rule some colours are consistent with a monsters type: all undead have white text black background, for example. SO. Shall we list the text types, monsters they are associated with, and hence have some grounding for our speculations?

Black text: Pastel background: Divine, members of the pantheon.
Pale purple: The Dark One (of the goblins)
Pale yellow: Northen gods, including Thor.
Pale orange: Western gods
Pale blue: Southern gods (the twelve)
Pale green: eastern gods (greek style, now extinct)

White text: coloured background. Often Dragons, possibly divine speaking through cleric.
Dark Grey: Silver Dragon
Dark Purple: Black Dragon
Green: Tiamet speaking through Kobold
Unknown: Dark One speaking through Redcloak
Deep Red: Surtur
Possibly slightly paler Red: Eugune as Lawful Celestial
Blue: Celia
Blue with faintly green tinting: Eugene

Unknown colours, dark coloured text, paler background:
Treants.
Red text, yellow background: Jeff

Black background, coloured texts: Sabine's Fiendish Lords

Black background, red text: Kubota's Mysterious Ally.

No background: White: Good Roaches, Purple: Evil Roaches
Black: Everyone, when space is limited.

You can probably think of others. So, will this help to start with?

so we can assume the that the boss of Therkla isn't fiendish then but devilish - at least until we see a devil speak anyways.

I think hamishspence was using fiendish to apply to both devilish and demonic, since we don't know what Sabine or her masters are. And Therkla's boss has a very similar style to Sabine's bosses, close enough that I'd say we can assume they're of similar origin.
