This is the 22nd edition of the Order of the Stick Trivia thread, still going strong after almost 15 years!

Here are the rules for any newcomers:

The first player to answer a question correctly, asks the next one.
If that player doesn't have a question immediately in mind, then state "Open Question" ("OQ") and let someone else ask.
Questions have to have an answer that is demonstrated by at least one, and no more than three, canon online strips. (No bonus material, either online or in the books.)
No counting questions with more than 3 parts. For example, "How many times has Roy said 'the'?" violates this rule.
If the answer given is not the answer expected, but still technically answers the question, allow it. You can rephrase and ask your question again later.
There's a difference between rephrasing—finding a different, more precise way to word the question so it has a smaller number of possible answers—and just simply rewriting to rule out the last answer. Don't do the latter. (If you are unsure, just ask.)
If an answer is given that in no way is correct, then players can call attention to the fact. At that point, there may be 2 questions occurring at the same time. The 1st question that was incorrectly answered is the valid question. The second question may be answered, but for no prize (aka asking the next question).
If your response is ninja'd, that is if someone beats you with the correct answer, please edit your post stating, "ninja'd, please answer above question".
After 24 hours without an answer, please provide a hint. After an additional 24 hours pass, please provide the answer and take pride that you have stumped us all. If you won't be around to provide a hint (hiking Mt. Everest or doing some other activity without internet), rot-13 (https://rot13.com/) is a good way to hide your hint so you can post it in advance.
Recognize that this is a game. It is supposed to be quick and fun. If a question seems to go beyond the rules, assume that the author is not familiar with the rules, and point them out. If the author affirms that the question is allowable within the rules, then continue with the game. If the question turns out to be not allowable, it becomes an open question. Groan and move on.
Questions along the lines of "when was the first time X happened/was mentioned" are not allowed because to prove that they never happened before, one would have to link to every strip before it, which is unreasonable and would break the no-more-than-three-strips rule. They are permitted if the answer is in the first three strips, however.

b_jonas

Metastachydium: I understand you say trunks because some of the forest scenes around the bandit camp show a lot of trees, but without their trunks. But 30 is a lot. The only one I can think of is the splash panel of the goblin city in GDGU p. 91. There's the gate of the dam made of 9 trunks, plus we can see a wall and a gate with about 45 plants that we can individually count, and each of those big planks must have taken at least half a tree trunk to make.

It's 30 tree trunks (all of them belonging to happy trees that are very much alive), in a single panel, no less. Main, online comic. I counted them.

Do the trunks themselves need to be visible, or would 30 individual happy trees that are very much alive (which obviously must have trunks) suffice?

The format is fine, but there isn't a fifty word sentence in there by my estimate. As in, fifty words before a period, exclamation point or question mark appears.

Sorry, my bad! Although I had some other answer in mind (which I'll post tomorrow if no one finds it), I didn't notice that "two days and two nights" is a valid answer to the question, not because of the montage panels but because Julio explicitly states it as the duration of the flight.

Actually I was not referring to the fake montage scene, but rather to what Captain Scoundrel tells Elan in the first panel, so I assumed that, after two days and night (which conclude in the following strip) Elan has reached the 1st level of Dashing Swordsman, a rather obscure prestige class.

But that's okay, the question still stands then. Time to dig again in thhe strips!

Seriously, what does it matter if someone posts twice in a row? How does it disrupt the thread? Who is damaged? What is the point of the rule in the first place?
Metamagic Mod: Peelee is correct that the best place to ask these kinds of questions is in Board/Site Issues. However, because we get questions like this frequently, and because I wish more people knew the answer, in brief: one person posing twice in a row in one thread harms no one. A thousand posters posting a thousand times in a row in a thousand threads destroys the forum. Therefore a line must be drawn. Since a line must be drawn, the best place to draw it is at 0. Anywhere else just shifts the problem sideways for no benefit (https://xkcd.com/1113/). In the grander scheme of things, the rules need to succinctly manage a large number of users across a large number of individual use cases, of which it takes only a vanishingly small percentage of bad actors to cause widespread problems. Not everyone agrees with every rule but they are neither arbitrary nor capricious. They were each given serious thought by conscientious people and they all exist for good reasons.

NOTE: I know I started it, but please do not continue to discuss the rules in this thread. If anyone has questions or concerns about any rule, like Peelee says, the place to ask is in Board/Site Issues or by PM'ing a Moderator. We're happy to answer questions about them.

Ok, I had to google some Darkwing Duck villains, then it became easy. It has to be the name suggestion panel here (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1030.html).

Well, OQ, and I haven't done one in a while, so... I searched at random and I don't remember having done this question before:

Find me a suicide king (https://www.wopc.co.uk/cards/suicide-king).

Here's four (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0606.html).

Well, only one we can be completely sure about, but, yeah, that's it.

Meta, do you want to ask a question?

I'm looking for two pages.
One Person gets something (one page) very similar to a thing someone else wants (the other page)

OOOOOOO, I love how you worded that, because here is an accurate answer that I can almost guarantee is not what you're looking for!

Elan gets love (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0393.html), which was all Tsukiko wanted (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0830.html). BOOYAKASHA.

Do chains even work on someone without arms? Find me evidence that they apparently do.

Strictly speaking, your answer is not valid since I asked for something very similar, while your answer is the same thing, love. :smalltongue:

Does this monster have arms? (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0526.html)

(So how about this: Tsukiko wanted to become intimate with a creature that is not alive anymore (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0830.html); Eugene succeeded in that task with a very different kind of creature that is not quite alive anymore (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0039.html).)

Okay, this is not what I meant, but this has to count.

Your Question, please.

Ain't Tsukiko grand?

Ain't Tsukiko grand?

She was of average size, now she is approximately non existence. :smalltongue:

Now, remind me to clarify I am talking about a grand physical thing the next time I ask my question, please :smallwink:
