Of course this requires DM approval to take any template which is not a given in all games.

A reborn is a fomer Magister who has the Spell Immunity of a Chosen. Chosen is in FRCS page 247. Karsites are +2 LA race from Tome of Magic and make good psions and combatants.

The major reason Chosen and Reborn reason would be good mage killers is because they get Spell Immunity. Take Alustriel in the FRCS page 276 and the Epic Hand Book page 300 - 301 she has Spell Immunity Timestop since it makes no sense as a spell choice to only apply to herself since she is Immune to the spell it clearly applies to other casters.

So you have a DM who despite a few reservations will let you take the FRCS Chosen template without LA since there is none listed for it in FRCS on page 147 and other templates like Aasimar, Gensai, Drow, Svirfneblin and Tieflings all have LAs assigned to them in FRCS.

Your PC can choose to be Immune to one spell at each level. I was thinking Celerity, Anti Magic, and either Forsight or Timestop would be prime candidates. What would you recommend?

Time Stop immunity has no effect anymore. Time Stop no longer 'stops time' for 3.5, it "speeds you up".
The reason why you still see it is due to a combination of bad editing and use of unupdated books.

The reason the template has no LA is because it is not a player option, not because it doesn't give benefits that would normally be LA. If you are going to talk about a DM giving away the chosen template for no LA, you might as well just ask to start as a Balor at ECL 1.

QFT this is a template intended for DM's to use for MAJOR npc's in their games. Not for players.
