I had an idea and i just want some help coming up with ways to make it work or function so any help would be appreciated.

I want to make a character based around their eyes kinda like a naruto sharingon type think or the monkey king from journey west. i’m not saying i want to be those guys. Just that i want to make a build around my eyes.

i looked at a class called ocular adept but i’m not a big fan of it.
Ocular spell is interesting
sunlight eyes is interesting
eyes of the abyss and precognitive vision are also awesome.
If any of you any any more ideas for this theory craft id love to hear it

Are you interested in playing a Beholder or it's kin?

As well as Ocular Adept, there's also Eye of the Xanathar (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/prc/20061107b).

Skillmonkey PrC, rather than a caster. Has a lot of eye/Beholder related stuff, though.

Pathfinder has Mesmerist (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/alternative-rule-systems/occult-adventures/occult-classes/mesmerist/) which is a sort of psychic bard that is more debuff-focused. It's signature ability is Stare which lets it apply several debuffs to a target by focusing your gaze on it as a swift action (can't be avoided the way gaze attacks usually can.) Moreover, since all your spells are psychic magic, you're pretty much just glancing around the room to cast them anyway, no chanting or breakdancing needed, adding to your eye-mage flavor.

That is a really good recommendation! thanks!

Check out the Hexer PrC. It needs divine casting to get in but can advance either divine or arcane spellcasting. It's based around getting a gaze attack, and if the opponent succeeds in averting their gaze (50% chance), instead get a 20% miss chance against your character.

Eyebite is, of course, a classic "shoot magic out of your eyes" spell, albeit a high-level one.

If "eye magic" is broad enough to include messing with the eyes of your enemies, Seething Eyebane is a spell that detonates a target's eyes, blinding them and dealing damage to people within 5 ft. of them.

Ocular Spell is a metamagic feat that lets you store spells in your eyes ahead of time and then discharge them as eye rays (that deliver the effects of those spells) later.

If Undeath interests you and you don't mind donig the conversion work there is an undead creature with some extra fun occular abilities (https://www.realmshelps.net/monsters/block/Eye_Of_Fear_And_Flame) and equally interesting fluff (https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Eye_of_fear_and_flame) (could maybe base a character around that) that if memory serves right was originally created in 2e but later updated in Book of Vile Darkness, which has also been used by our favourite Lich (https://oots.fandom.com/wiki/Xykon_Decoys) (or his Cleric aide, if you want to be technical about it)
