Since this is the general RPG section, I thought it would be fun to find out who plays what and how often!

This will be necessity have a bit of abstractness to it, but I was curious what games you played and whether you played them a lot (More than 1 Campaign, or 20+ games), Sometimes (Between 5-19 sessions), Tried it out (between 1-4 sessions or such), read the rules but never played yet.

Here is me as an example:

A lot:
Dungeons and Dragons (Colored Boxes)
Shadowrun 2nd Edition
AD&D 2E
Shadowrun 3rd Edition
D&D 5E
Star Wars WEG 2nd Edition
Homebrews

Sometimes:
Robotech
Rifts
Monster of the Week
TSR Marvel Super Heroes

Tried It:
TMNT
Those Dark Places
Top Secret
Boot Hill
Gurps (Unknown Edition or Splat Book)
Hackmaster

Read Them:
Paleomythic
Righteous Blood, Ruthless Blades
Legend 5 Rings (3rd, 4th and 5th edition)
Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, Black Crusade, and Kill Team
Fudge
Dune: Adventures in the Imperium

As you can see, I did a lot of RPGs in the past, and have only recently returned to the hobby in the past few years so there is big gaps. Much of the gap time was filled with Homebrew shenanigans with new RPGers.

I am sure there are others, and the list of ones I want to try out now is very, very long. However, that is what I can recall off the top of my head. I expect that this thread will get many interested in many, many more!

Regarding your Username GIJOEMIKE- I sorely, sorely wish there was a GI Joe RPG!

Spycraft or Spycraft 2 from the early 2000s is a team based spy game. It is very very suited to do a Joe Team. In fact, they pushed it as James bond/Mission Impossible, but it was team based not just focused on Bond/Hunt. We actually had a local GM plan a low level game with the premise of GI Joe. Uses Vitality and Wounds instead of just HP. Had a amazing crit success/fail mechanic. Crit fail in this game doesn't mean what you think it means.

EDIT: Add Spycraft to my A LOT category. That game is fantastic. One of my favorite D20 variations. Haven't played it in at least 16 years. :(

Since this is the general RPG section, I thought it would be fun to find out who plays what and how often!
I went through a period where I was working a ton of overtime before I was married and had kids. I could not play much but I began to buy and read rulesets and other RPG books. One day a friend forced me to sit down and document the list. When I last updated it the list had 129 line items. Now to be fair some were different editions of the same rules. Seven different Traveller rule editions or five different D&D editions (I had not read 4e or 5e at that point so they would now be on the read list).

The played list would be much much smaller, maybe 40 or so have I played more than one intro game.

In your play a lot category it drops even more to about 8 (Traveller LBB, AD&D 1e, D&D 3.5, Morrow Project, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, 4AD, and Twilight 2000 2e).

I am amazed so many people are playing so many tabletop RPGs. How do you manage that?
A) by being old and having played for a long time. The OP didn't ask for recent expereiences. You might notice that many entries are quite old and many played games over several editions.
B) by playing a lot. I have had at one point 5 weekly groups going and while that only lasted a short time, i still have 5 gaming sessions sceduled for this very week (but only two for the next).
C) For "Having tried" it is often the result of having been to conventions where enthusiasts present their favorite, if obscure game for one shots. Not true for my case though.

Necessity more than anything? Like, I play five or so campaigns at the moment and they all share like half the people. Most of those groups meet every six weeks or so. We all work, many of us on the weekends too, we have a lot of scheduling conflicts.

So we just start new campaigns all the time. Every few months, one of us will write to the others "Hey, I really want to run Degenesis, who's free this friday?" at which point we'll start a campaign, then try to find a new time slot, which is often over a month away.

And in that time, we'll probably have two other campaigns.

On average, I play maybe every other week, it's just always with a different subset of the same people.

Currently Play: D&D 5e. It's the only game our group will do.

Have also played in the last 5 years:
Dungeon World, Honey Heist, Golden Sky Stories, Great Orc Gods, 13th Age

Have an anticipation to play, but RL will not cooperate:
Star Trek RPG (A friend found it and we have it loaded in r20, but RL has intervened and he can't run it
13th Age. Our group began and the it wasn't too long before RL killed the game.
Lady Blackbird: still hasn't happened.

Have played:
Runequest, Traveller, Chivalry and Sorcery, Paranoia, Tunnels and Trolls, Boot Hill, Gama World, Metamorphisis Alpha, Empire of the Petal Throne, all editions of D&D and AD&D except for 4th.

There are probably others but right now my memory isn't picking up on them.

Played a lot:

D&D 3.5e
Pathfinder
D&D 4e (at least back in high school)
D&D 5e
Mutants and Masterminds
Fate (Legends of Anglerre, Dresden Files, Core)
STaRS (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/268061/STaRS-The-Simple-Tabletop-Roleplaying-System)
Exalted 2e (though I wouldn't say I ever got a proper handle on the mechanics)
Exalted 3e
Savage Worlds (Deadlands, specifically)

3.5e, 5e, M&M, and Exalted 3e are probably my most played, though.

Tried at Least Once:

Unknown Armies (enjoyed)
Fiasco (enjoyed, but arguably not an RPG)
Apocalypse World (not a fan)
World Wide Wrestling RPG (not a fan)
Sentinel Comics RPG (not a fan)
Mork Borg (fun flavor, crude mechanics)
Doctor Who RPG (not a fan)
Traveler (okay)
Homebrew systems of various levels of completeness
Pretty sure there are at least a few one-shots I'm forgetting, but eh.

Read (if not necessarily well-remembered):

Star Wars Saga Edition
Marvel Heroic Roleplaying
True20
Warbirds
Trail of Cthulu
Deadlands Classic
Assorted super-short games like BADASS and Honey Heist

Unread, but physically sitting on my shelf

REIGN
Mistborn RPG
Mage: The Awakening (I started to read, but couldn't understand without a copy of the nWoD rules I didn't have)
Adventurer Conqueror King
Trinity
Microscope (status as RPG also questionable)
Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine (well, a pdf, but I paid for it)
Continuum: Roleplaying in the Yet (so, so curious, but shelved until my brain is less broken)
The Official Chuck Tingle RPG (a friend's idea of a funny gift, though it actually looks like a decent fantasy heartbreaker under the jokes)

...I feel mildly ashamed, I need more non-fantasy and non-mainstream RPGs. Oh well... <wanders off to start bugging friends>

I am amazed so many people are playing so many tabletop RPGs. How do you manage that?
College, mostly-- I played a lot of RPGs in lieu of things like dates and parties. I've also got a decade-old group of friends from said college who enjoy trying out weird one-shots between campaigns. And one of them is a serial new-RPG-reader.

A lot that I still play:
Pathfinder 1e
FFG Star Wars (Age of Rebellion, Edge of the Empire, Force and Destiny)

D&D 5e
Laundry Files
Scion 1e
Vampire: The Masquerade
KULT
Legend of the Burning Sands
Star Wars WEG

Tried it:
Changeling: The Lost

Play a lot:
Cypher System
D&D5e

Used to play a lot:
D&D 3.5

Tried it out:
Savage Worlds
Dungeon World

Read:
GURPS 4e
AD&D
D&D 4e
Pathfinder
FATE
Mutants and Masterminds
Tri-Stat DX
Mystic Empyrean

Cypher system is my technical favorite, but after having played it for about 3 years, I have noticed that while it is simple, elegant, and supports emergent gameplay, I find myself sometimes missing the robustness of a heavier system like 5e. D&D 3.5 is one that I will always love, but never go back to again. Making a 12-page spreadsheet for my Psion broke me.

A Lot:
Dungeons & Dragons 5e (Many campaigns & one-offs; probably more of this than all other systems combined)
Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 (One very long campaign)
Warhammer & Warhammer 40k RPGs (Numerous, but emphasis on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2e, and both editions of Dark Heresy; several campaigns)

Sometimes:
Call of Cthulhu (7th Edition, One campaign and a few one-offs)
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2e (One campaign and a few one-offs)

Tried It:
Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition
OD&D (One-off)
Mouse Guard
Shadowrun (Numerous editions, all of them very awkwardly designed)
Ars Magica, which edition escapes me.
Blades in the Dark
Stars without Number

Read but Not Played:
Pathfinder, Both editions.
Conan RPG by Mophidius
Dune: Adventures in the Imperium
Lancer
Microscope
Paranoia

Marvel facerip

Mutants and Masterminds
Heroes and Heroines

Sometimes
Scion (2 editions)
DtD40k7e
Naruto (homebrew)

Tried it out
Harry Potter (homebrew)
Battletech (yes, it had an RPG)
Street Fighter
Call of Cthulhu
Marvel (other)
Gurps
Deadlands
Paranoia
Exalted
CP2020
Earthdawn
D&D 4e
Mouse guard

Read the rules (ish?)
Star Wars (various)

Apocalypse World?
Pathfinder
Gamma World
Ars Magica
Dr. Who
Aeon Trinity

DC…

Doubtless there's more, and some are probably in the wrong place. Oh… what system had… I.C.E. tables? Or… what game used I.C.E. system?

Just wanna add in that SPycraft 2 is an awesome game, never played it but have read it and it seems awesome.

They have a lot of supplemental PDFs that can turn the game into transmechs (transformers), real american heroes (G i Joe)spookbusters (ghostbusters) stone sentinels (gargoyles) and I think there is another 80s/90s baller cartoon supplemental that I am forgetting.

DO not ask me why, but i have like 6 core rulebooks.

Games I've Played:
Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition
Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition
Mutants & Masterminds 3rd Edition
Masks: A New Generation
My Little Pony: Roleplaying is Magic
Lasers & Feelings

Currently Trying Out:
Star Wars Saga Edition

Games That I Own:
Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition
Mutants & Masterminds 3rd Edition

Games That Never Took Off:
Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition
Monster of the Week

Games I Want To Try:
City of Mist
Shadowrun 5e

When I say "Games That Never Took Off", by that I mean where I applied as a player for one game (Monster of the Week), and where I made an attempt at setting up a game to run as a GM (Call of Cthulhu 7e), but both died very briefly. With COC 7e, it was because I had a plan to run the adventure that came with the quickstart rules, and just post the rules on the recruitment thread. But when somebody actually posted a link to the quickstart rules, I panicked and decided to run a published beginner-friendly adventure as well as try to cram the rules from the rulebooks to get the gist of how the game is played (as the rules from the quickstart rules aren't the same as the rules from the rulebooks). And as you may of guessed, that lead to me burning out really quickly.

Lol. I've been playing RPG's for just over 40 years. For most of my life the only way to do so was in person, around a table. In High School and University, this meant every day during lunch break! When you get together regularly, over years, you can try a lot of different games!

This could be my story as well. Attending the regional convention and selecting various rule sets to try, later joining CompUServe and playing forum based games. The local FLGS hosting "game nights" where folks offered to GM various games for people to try them out. Couple of th egroups over time I was a member of would buy and try core games just for fun. All things done over the 40+ years I have been playing.

I am amazed so many people are playing so many tabletop RPGs. How do you manage that?

Well, I've started playing tabletop RPGs on play by post forums back in November 2012. I think I may have started playing tabletop RPGs before then around the same year when I tried my very first time DMing a D&D 4e game for my little sister and her friend, who were also playing D&D for the first time. I think they both didn't like how slow the game ran because they never played 4e ever again after that.

I’ve adjusted the ordering of them in a way that makes more sense for me.

More than one campaign:
D&D 5E
Dungeon World

One full campaign:
Vampire: The Masquerade (V5)
Blades in the Dark
Uncharted Worlds
FATE

One-shots, tiny mini-campaigns and campaigns that fell apart:
Apocalypse World
Offworlders
Risus
D&D 3.5
Maze Rats
Scum and Villainy
Microscope (if it counts as an RPG)
Fiasco
Serenity RPG
City of Mist
Various homebrew games and hacks designed by me and others

I’m really envious of everyone who has actually played a lot of different RPGs for a decent length of time. But that will be me one day!

This is a good thread. It's neat to see what other people are playing.

Most Played:
D&D 3.5 - 12 (ish) full campaigns
Pathfinder 1e - 5 full campaigns
Exalted 3e - 5+ campaigns (currently running)
Masks: A New Generation: - 3 full campaigns (my actual favorite ttrpg)

Sometimes Played:
Mutants and Masterminds 3e - 2 campaigns (not a fan)
Rifts - several sessions (not a fan)
D&D 4e - arguably too much
Ironsworn (big favorite)
Urban Shadows (had a blast)
World of Darkness (terrible GM, would like to try again)
Monsterhearts - several sessions
Tianxia - several sessions

Played Once:
World Wide Wrestling (solid gold, best combat system in ttrpgs)
Dungeon World (rather eat mold)
D&D 2e (don't do 24 hour sessions, kids)
Microscope (excellent session 0 tool)
Shadowrun (absolute slog)

Watched My Friends Play:
Chuubos Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine (sounds fun)
Ars Magica 5e (also sounds fun)

Games I Intend to Play Once, And Die Shortly Thereafter:
Sea Dracula
