Hello guys !

I did a quick search and surprisingly did not find any topic about music in D&D, but maybe I did it wrong. Please tell me if such topic exists, i'll close this one.

What are your go to musics during your campaigns ?

I don't tend to use recorded music very much as a DM, it mostly gets distracting.

One time, I did use Close to Board from the soundtrack of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. It's pretty much the ideal swashbuckling soundtrack.

Now, when I play a Bard, you can bet I let my singing voice off the hook; I typically rework the tunes of existing folk melodies and give them new, canonical lyrics. One of my fondest gaming memories was from a session where not much happened at all. We were on a quest of great import, but for now we were simply travelling through an empty land. On a mild evening with bright stars in the sky, we sat around the fire and some Dwarfen stew, and told each other about our homes and our lives. When the talk came to lost loves, I told of a woman I had left behind to seek adventure. I took up my harp and sang the song I had written to her. Its tune sounds something like The Holly and the Ivy, though with a few notes in different places and a changed verse structure.

I'll crown thy lily forehead
with wreath of sage and broom,
and from thy new-sprung flow'rbed
I'll pluck the fairest bloom.
For when I am a-flying
Across the Shadowed Sea,
I fain to still be sighing
for the blossom plucked of thee.

You could also sing it to the tune of the Gilligan's Island theme
