Based very strongly on the witch elves of warhammer fantasy, the most powerful of which are also powerful casters and who use blood magic to enhance their spellcasting and maintain their youth.

Bloodied Hag

A Bloodied Hag is a strength and dexterity based spellcasting class that belives in expressing their devotion to their diety and spreadin their word through acts of bloodshed. As a result they rely on shedding the blood of their enemies to regain spell slots. They are also skilled with poisons and posses of a fanatical zeal to the shedding of blood and dispensing of divine power against their deities enemies.

It is important to note that their diety does not necessarily approve or condone of their actions, their combination of fanatical self belief and the power they siphon from the souls of their enemies by the shedding of their blood are all they need to manifest divine powers.

Races: Commonly Drow or Evil Elves, but any race can become one, nor is the class exclusively female, though that is more common.

Restrictions: A bloodied hag cannot already be a part of, nor can they later become a part of another class that has divine spellcasting abilities. This limitation does not apply to a class that merely enhances an existing divine spellcasting class in some way (e.g. mystic theurge).

Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Bloodied Hag.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A Bloodied Hag is proficient with only Simple weapons and no armor, (including shields).

Bloodied Rage (Ex): A bloodied hag can fly into a rage a certain number of times per day. In a rage, a bloodied hag temporarily gains a +4 bonus to Strength, a +4 bonus to Dexterity. While raging, a bloodied hag cannot use any Charisma-, or Intelligence-based skills (except for Spellcraft, Intimidate, and Use Magic Device), she can use any feat she has except combat reflexes and item creation feats. A fit of rage lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + the character’s (newly improved) Strength modifier. A bloodied hag may prematurely end her rage. At the end of the rage, the bloodied hag loses the rage modifiers and restrictions and becomes fatigued (-2 penalty to Strength, -2 penalty to Dexterity, can’t charge or run) for the duration of the current encounter.

A bloodied hag can fly into a rage only once per encounter. At 1st level she can use her rage ability once per day. At 4th level and every four levels thereafter, she can use it one additional time per day (to a maximum of six times per day at 20th level). Entering a rage takes no time itself, but a bloodied hag can do it only during her action, not in response to someone else’s action.

Spells
A bloodied hag casts divine spells, which are drawn from the bloodied hag spell list (see below). However, her alignment may restrict her from casting certain spells opposed to her moral or ethical beliefs; see Chaotic, Evil, Good, and Lawful Spells, below. A bloodied hag does not choose and prepare her spells in advance (see below).

To prepare or cast a spell, a bloodied hag must have a Strength score equal to at least 10 + the spell level. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a bloodied hag’s spell is 10 + the spell level + the bloodied hag’s Strength modifier.

Like other spellcasters, a bloodied hag can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Her base daily spell allotment is 0 for each spell level upto the maximum she can cast. The maximum she can cast is limited by her bloodied hag level and is defined in the class table above. She receives bonus spells per day if she has a high Strength score.

Bloodied hags do not meditate or pray for their spells, nor do they regain spent spell slots based on passage of time or rest. See the Bloodied Power class feature for an explanation of how they regain expended spell slots. Upon taking this class for the first time a bloodied hag’s avalibile spells per day, including bonus spells granted by their strength score are replenished however.

Unlike a wizard or a cleric, a bloodied hag need not prepare her spells in advance. She can cast any spell she knows at any time, assuming she has not yet used up her spells per day for that spell level. She does not have to decide ahead of time which spells she’ll cast.

A bloodied hag may convert any spell slot to an inflict spell as could an evil cleric.

Due to the somewhat self belief powered nature of their divine spellcasting a bloodied hag cannot cast spells whilst wearing any form of armour regardless of it’s material type.

Chaotic, Evil, Good, and Lawful Spells
A bloodied hag can’t cast spells of an alignment opposed to her own or her deity’s (if she has one). Spells associated with particular alignments are indicated by the chaos, evil, good, and law descriptors in their spell descriptions.

Spells Known, and Domain Powers
A bloodied hag gains knowledge of all domain spells of her deity’s (if she has one), upto those of the maximum spell level she can cast. She also gains the Domain Powers of these domains. In addition, all bloodied hags regardless of their deity, (if any), gain knowledge of spells and domain powers of the Destruction, Strength, and War Domains in the same fashion as their deities normal domains, and with the same limitations.

Bloodied Power (Su): A bloodied hag does not regain her expended spell slots through meditation or prayer. Instead they literally rip power from the souls of their enemies by the act of shedding blood.

Anytime a bloodied hag uses the full-attack action or scores a confirmed critical hit, they regain one bloodied hag spell slot upto the highest spell level they can cast.

At least one attack in a full attack must cause damage to the target for this to activate. Likewise a confirmed critical hit must cause damage for this ability to activate.

If the critical hit occurs with a weapon with a critical multiplier greater than 2x they regain an additional spell slot of upto their highest level for each 1x increase in critical multiplier, (so a 3x multiplier would restore 2 spell slots total, 4 times would restore 3 total and so on and so forth).

Rapid Metamagic (Ex): When applying metamagic to their spells a bloodied hag is treated as if they where a prepared caster and thus does not suffer the normal increase in casting time applied to spontaneous casters using metamagic and can benefit from types of metamagic normally not available to spontaneous casters (e.g. quicken metamagic).

Favoured Weapon (Ex): Bloodied hags are somewhat naturally prone to preferring lightweight melee weapons with which they can easily launch a flurry of attacks. Naturally where possible they prefer to use their gods preferred weapon, but if their chosen deity’s preferred weapon is not a 1handed simple or martial melee weapon they may designate one such weapon as their preferred weapon. This is used for all bloodied hag class features referring to their deity’s preferred weapon and replaces the preferred weapon of their deity for the purposes of the war domain power.

The preferred weapon of a bloodied hag’s deity is their divine focus and whenever a spell would require them to make a touch attack they instead make a single attack with their deities preferred weapon. This is resolved just like a normal attack, (including damage if it hits). If the attack hits then they are considered to have succeeded on their touch attack roll for the spell. If it misses the touch attack is considered to have missed. If they are wielding and able to use more than one preferred weapon at once, (for example wielding one in their main-hand and another in their off-hand), they may make a single attack with each weapon. If any of them hit the touch attack is successful, however if more than one hits the spell effects are only applied once.

Starting and 2nd level a bloodied hag receives the two-weapon fighting feat for free, even if she does not meet the perquisites. This ceases to function if the bloodied hag is wearing any armour or is wielding any weapon other than their favoured weapon.

Starting at 8th level a bloodied hag receives the improved two-weapon fighting feat for free, even if she does not meet the perquisites. This ceases to function if the bloodied hag is wearing any armour or is wielding any weapon other than their favoured weapon.

Starting at 10th level a bloodied hag receives the improved critical feat with their favoured weapon free, even if she does not meet the perquisites. This ceases to function if the bloodied hag is wearing any armour.

Starting at 15th level a bloodied hag receives the greater two-weapon fighting feat for free, even if she does not meet the perquisites. This ceases to function if the bloodied hag is wearing any armour or is wielding any weapon other than their favoured weapon.

Uncanny Dodge (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a bloodied hag can react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, she still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized.

If a bloodied hag already has uncanny dodge from a different class she automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead.

Strength of Will (Ex): At 3rd level and higher, a bloodied hag gains Strength of Will. Anytime she attempts a will save against an effect where a successful save results in a reduced effect she instead suffers no effect on a successful save. In addition she may use her strength modifier in the place of her Charisma modifier when making intimidate checks.

Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 5th level and higher, a bloodied hag can no longer be flanked. This defense denies a rogue the ability to sneak attack the bloodied hag by flanking her, unless the attacker has at least four more rogue levels than the target has bloodied hag levels. If a character already has uncanny dodge from a second class, the character automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead, and the levels from the classes that grant uncanny dodge stack to determine the minimum level a rogue must be to flank the character.

Evasion (Ex): At 6th level and higher, a bloodied hag can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If she makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the bloodied hag is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless bloodied hag does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Innate Poison (Sp): At 7th level, a bloodied can manifest poison directly onto her favored weapon as a quickened spell like ability. She may cast it a number of times per day equal to the number of times per day she could use bloodied rage ability. They do not share uses per day. Unlike a bloodied hags normal spells slots this ability does return upon resting.

The spell applies a coat of poison to each favored weapon the bloodied hag is currently wielding. The poison has a save DC of 10+half her bloodied hag level+her strength modifier. If the save is failed the target takes 1 point of either strength or dexterity damage, randomly determined.

The effect lasts a number of rounds equal to half her bloodied hag level and the poison is not lost on successfully striking an enemy, only upon the spell effect ending.

At 13th level this ability improves. The ability damage is now instead ability drain.

Improved Strength of Will (Ex): At 9th level and higher, a bloodied hag gains Improved Strength of Will. This ability works like Strength of Will, except that while the bloodied hag still suffers no effect on a successful will saving throw against attacks henceforth she takes only reduced effect on a failed save. A helpless bloodied hag does not gain the benefit of improved Strength of Will.

In addition she may now use her strength score in the place of her charisma score when making charisma checks.

Blood Soaked Rage (Ex): Starting at 11th level, when a bloodied hag rages her bonus to strength and dexterity increase to +6 and whilst raging she gains a +2 bonus to her caster level.

Improved Evasion (Ex): At 12th level and higher, a bloodied hag gains Improved Evasion. This ability works like evasion, except that while the bloodied hag still takes no damage on a successful Reflex saving throw against attacks henceforth she takes only half damage on a failed save. A helpless bloodied hag does not gain the benefit of improved evasion.

Automatic Quicken Spell (Ex): Starting at 13th level, a bloodied hag gains one instance of the automatic quicken spell epic feat even if they do not meet the requirements for it. This can only be used to cast bloodied hag spells using bloodied hag class granted spell slots. This feat ceases to function if the bloodied hag is wwearing any form of armour.

Starting at 17th level, a bloodied hag gains a second copy of the feat with the same limitations as noted above. In all other respects it functions as an extra choice of the feat would.

Blood Soaked Rage (Ex): Starting at 20th level, when a bloodied hag rages her bonus to strength and dexterity increase to +8 and whilst raging she gains a further +2 bonus to her caster level, for a total of +4 from raging.

So you can recover spells up to your bonus spell slots derived from strength with bloodied power?
Should it be limited to attacks on creatures with blood or are you supposed to recover from wounds on other kinds of creatures?

Effectively yes.

I chose not to limit it in that way for a couple of reasons. First i wanted to avoid the rouge sneak attack issue where a huge piece of the class just stops working vs undead and some others. Second in theory almost everything has somthing be it magic, souls, or somthing else powering it, what a bloodied hag is really doing is latching onto that and consuming it to power their spellcasting. In theory there might be some edge cases that this wouldn't apply to, but see the first reson again. keeping things playable is important.

I just realised you said opponent in the description of the ability.
Not dangerous opponent.
So if Durkon picked that class he would be able to regain blood hag spells by fighting the trees because trees are his opponents (over the long term he is right: trees ruins dwarf infrastructure).
I could understand regaining spell slots by hitting a trap that could be shooting at you because it is a dangerous opponent and many traps are magical or have some sort of mechanism powering it and so have essence to consume (pit traps are a notable exception to the powered thing but you can hardly call an action as damaging a pit trap too).

Yeah there's probably a lot of edge cases to the use of the ability, i'll go back and add an exception for inanimate objects when i finish waking up, (morning btw :p). But this kind of thing is definitely where a DM is going to have to apply a bit of common sense + an element of "whats fun and interesting for everyone".
