How much would firewood cost?
How much would scrap wood cost?
Can quaterstaff makers, really create wood out of nothing?

Scrapwook costs nothing because it is scrap. Similarly, a quarterstaff costs nothing because you can walk around a forest until you find a long stick that'll do the job, although it probably takes more time than finding a stick to use as a club. :smallwink:

Firewood is 1cp/20lbs (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/goodsAndServices.htm#). Scrap would probably cost slightly less if you're assuming it's scrap wood from lumber mills or something, so say 1cp/30lbs, if you can't get it for free. Ultimately that probably depends on the quality of the scrap.
Crafting rules were not meant to be used in combat, but if you try, the field of combat is probably someplace where a quarterstaff does have some value, and the DM should adjust the price accordingly. "You sir! Fetch me a good staff from yon woods!" "For merely ten coppers sir! They'd have to be imported from yon woods, and at speed, don't you know." It's no different from asking for a quarterstaff in the dessert and far from any trees. But if you're just wandering through the woods, they have no price. You're not going to give a traveling quarterstaff salesman even a copper because the supply of quarterstaffs is so great.

Firewood costs -4.5 sp for about 10 pieces, which should be enough for a fire for about 3 hours.

I love demolishing 10ft ladders.
