Would it be possible to create a greater spell component pouch that creates expensive (and ideally inexpensive) spell components leveraging major creation or something else? It could have limited uses per day to reduce cost (particularly on expensive items).

Is there anything of the sort?

I just realized there is Presto's hat from the Animated Series that would serve as a guideline, but it has many other abilities as well and seems woefully underpriced

Hat of Many Spells (Animated Series Handbook) holds any material component up to 1,000gp value. The component lasts 1 round before dissolving.

It also acts as a Rod of Wonder, Empowers spells, and can allow a Wizard to spontaneously cast a spell in their book in place of a memorized one. The last two powers have unpredictable results, which may act as desired, cause a Rod of Wonder effect instead, or acts as desired + Rod of Wonder effect.

All for the low, low price of 12,500gp. Even if you only use it for the material component effect, well worth it.

Thanks! I realized at the same time -- definitely a powerful item. That and the Energy bow are such iconic items from the series that seem to break normal game-item pricing and power levels!

Pathfinder has the Robe of Components (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/r-z/robe-of-components/), which can make up to 50 gp of expensive components per day in addition to serving as a regular spell component pouch. It's not going to do much for really expensive spells, but it's helpful for cheaper spells like augury.
