Howdy I'm about to startup with a group on roll20 and wanted to pick some people's brains for a fun build. I generally play some kind of sneak attacking gish but wanted to mix it up a bit.

The current party is A Changeling Chameleon, and a full arcane caster (not positive on his PrCs.).

I was considering some kind of archivist into malconvoker and thaumaturgist or a druid (greenbound summons are banned)

Trying not to step on the wizard's toes too much but still want to do something that is going to be a bit more impactful for the group and we don't know if we're going to have a 4th player yet.

Psionics, ToB, ToM, and Incarnum are not allowed.

40 point buy so most builds are on the table. 2 flaws as well.

How about a druid that goes to the dark side?

Druid 1/Cleric 2/Master of Shrouds 10/Blighter ?

Bonus points if you can be a necropolitan. 😀

I can offer you some of my TO builds as inspiration (beware of the power lvl. scale it down to your tables expectations).

For druid I could offer my Papa Smurf adaptation. It's a double ubercharger build with access of up to 8th lvl spells.

Or how about playing a diminutive lil dirty Kobold with Eldritch Glaive and a STR score of 1. If you are looking for a mascot for good laughs that can hold his water in melee combat, here you go.

With so many books being disallowed I suppose the Horizon Tripper might be an option.

Depends a lot on what levels you'll be starting and ending as.

How complex of a character do you want to run?

The old buildmakers have a synthesis of some of their showcase work here (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=24372982&postcount=2)

Idk about you but I am having a blast reading them

I second master of shrouds, it is very fun and powerful. I played one a few years ago that primarily progresses spirit shaman casting. I found incorporeal undead and Druid BC have a strong synergy.

I was hoping to run something in the vein of a conjuration domain wizard but sadly the role kinda got scooped up. I enjoy decently complex characters but artifcer is about where I start having to do a bit more cost analysis than I'd like just because of how many spells there are to obtain on the class while making sure im on track for headband of int and so on plus managing a lot in the background.

My generally defaults are some kind of gish sneak attacker or control mage. I was considering a fochlucan lyrist simply because of the sheer about of things they can do. Not quite sure how to qualify for that though. Rogue 2 bard x druid 1 ?

Dunno if you have gave it a look, but my Kobold glaivelock fits the sneacky gish and control parts at least.

But if you want to stick to fochlucan lyrist, Harper Scout (prc with 5lvls from FR) could be interesting. It also has Bardic Knowledge ability (is defined as identical, thus counts as such for prerequisites) if you want to skip bard for some reason (e.g. pick any other arcane class to progress)..
