I'm not concerned about party make-up. I just need some suggestions.

Or maybe it's daytime. Maybe it's oil. Followed by a fireball. Followed by more oil. 1d6 adds up over a minute.

The point is expendable minions are sent to their deaths to cover the retreat of the cult fanatic (who's what a cr1?!!?)

The compound is actually a secret pit-fighting ring where the wealthy stroke their ego by killing powerful creatures thanks to the help of the mercenaries running it that keep the monster from truly being a threat. The Cultist is going there to rescue a Red Dragon Wyrmling, but there are also things like Unicorns, or Pagasi, Owlbears, etc...
