Dark Twin
“Dark Twin” is a template that can be added to any living, corporeal, nonevil, creature whose Intelligence is at least 5.
A dark twin uses all the base creatures statistics and abilities except as noted here.
Size and Type: The creatures type changes to outsider, and they gain the evil subtype. Size is unchanged.
Armor Class: The dark twin gains a +1 profane bonus to AC.
Special Qualities: As outsiders, dark twins have 60 ft. darkvision, cannot be raised or resurrected, and do not need to eat or sleep. They also have SR equal to 6+their HD. They also have DR 5/+1. any damage dealt to a dark twin by anything other than their mortal copy is halved.
Saves: Dark twins have a +2 profane bonus to one randomly determined save.
Abilities: The dark twin receives a +2 inherent bonus to two randomly determined ability scores.
Organization: Solitary.
Challenge Rating: As base creature + 1
Level Adjustment: Not playable.

You see what at first you think is a mirror, until the creatures eyes glow with hellish red power and it attacks you!
This is for a new campaign I’m creating where everyone has a dark twin whose sole purpose is to hunt down their mortal copy and kill them.

So, what do you think? Any advice/critique/verbal abuse :smallwink: would be welcome.

Edit: Alignment is opposite of original. If the original is TN then the twin can be CE or LE.

It should have an opposite alignment on both axes.

Their copy is Biased Biased.

But what happens if an evil person activates this? Do they get an evil-er twin that is compelled to kill them, or a good one?

True neutral's opposite would be Kaotic Awsome.

Also, the stats should be opposite as well, so a half-orcs twin would have 18 int and 3 str, probbaly being a wizard vs. barbarian!

Okay here we go:
Fluff: A dark twin is a hellish double of their original, a blight on the world whose sole purpose is to slay their mortal copy. They are spawned in the astral plane, popping into appearance once their mortal twin is born. They usually seek out their copies for slaying once they’re around level 6 or so, but if some fiendish overlord of at least archdevil/demon lord power says so, they may leave the astral much earlier. The dark twin possesses copies of any items their twin owns, and when the dark twin dies it explodes in a cloud of black smoke which then turns into a flight of madly cawing ravens, which proceed to fight until they are all dead. If it was the mortal double that killed the dark twin, then they get the normal XP plus a +2 exalted bonus to one of the ability scores that the dark twin had a bonus to (player’s choice). Then the fiendish overlords get really pissed and send out a ton of fiends to kill the stat-boosted offender. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DIE, PCs, DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
