A few levels ago, our party killed a bunch of giant black widow spiders. Being the cash poor group we were, we harvested the corpses of what we could, gaining a pile of chitin and a couple of flasks of poison.
During a brief downtime, we crafted a set of masterwork barding for our druids wolf companion. It has saved his life a couple of times, but now we have a little cash to spare we are looking to enchant the barding.

Our first thought was Spiderclimb. With a x-minutes per day duration, it would give the wolf the ability to chase down hard to get at opponents.
Our other thought was to give the wolf a poison bite.

Anyone have other ideas?

Keep in mind that for magic item crafting, barding is just armor. So most of the exciting options will be more expensive (either built-in, or because the custom magic item rules make it so) than the equivalent effect on collars, belts, doggles or whatever. An exception could be freedom armor (Magic Item Compendium): 1000->36000 gp is cheaper than 40000 gp for the ring... unless you add any other effect with quadratic cost. Otherwise, fortification and death ward are classics for a reason.

Actually, how's the situation with proficiency and ACP? If you have some penalty left, AND it applies to initiative/attack rolls/trip checks, nimbleness (also MIC) would be a pretty high priority.

Of course there might be alternatives and more options among Paizo's houserules, but that shouldn't change the basic approach here (and doesn't rule out official material either).
