View Full Version : Pathfinder Game. In Need of back up character Idea that'll cover some Gaps in the par

I am looking for a back up Character idea in case my current PC bites the dust

The game is Base on a 5e Titamat game just ported over for Pathfinder

The party is consisted of the following members

My self is a Human Fighter (Archer) Level 10
A Human Path of war Medic
A Orcale (Physical Exemplar) unknown race
A alchemist (Owl person)

The medic mostly uses Broken Blade or steel Serpent to damage and heals the party of damage and most debuffs
The orcales Buffs him self and uses the shield stsff feat line
And the alchemist uses his bombs to deal damge relying a lot on confusion bomb and frost bombs

The obvious gap in the party is an arcane caster, focusing on crowd control for anything immune to confusion (and there are a lot of things immune to confusion...) as well as utility magic and dimdoor/teleport when needed.

Give this char draconic bloodline and blast spells if your party (minus archer) is somewhat short on damage.

Between Wizard and sorcerer what would you recommend
I have never done crowd control.
Any Archtype or pure Class?

Since you’re using 3PP already, ask if you can use Spheres of Power. If yes, do incanter 10 (for simplicity) and take the following talents:

destruction, Crystal blast, explosive orb, gather energy, selective blast, extended range, blast salvo, admixture, energy cloud, time, steal time, mass time, nature(earth). If you want to do damage, add nature (fire), searing blast, and penetrating blast.

The following feats: sphere focus(destruction), primal blast, time-thief’s admixture

Get a +X staff ofdestruction (where X is what you can afford or +5. Bonus squard * 2k), and a +y dagger (or whatever) of greater destructive focus (and always shift as much as you can from weapon to blast for save DC boosting)

You’ll have plenty of talents to do other stuff too, including taking better damaging blasts and any shapes you may want. This will set you up to do very good reflex save or stuck area control (think web at will,) but give you a will save or nauseated that also gives you an extra action in an aoe. If you want every harder BFC, look at protection and take all the barrier talents to make yourself a wall of force generator.

You could go with inheritor sorcerer to get fewer talents, but have access to flexible talents that you can gain for a minute several times per day too.

Edit: 4 talents into warp (warp, group warp, ranged warp, extend range) give you a long range group teleport. If you drop ranged warp, you have to be touching your allies.

You get 17 talents and 6 bonus feats at incanter 10. So you should be able to pull warp and Crystal blasting. With some drawbacks, forgoing some convenience talents, or spending feats, you can get protection, greater barrier, distant protection and extend range or fire blasting for lots of damage that doesn’t care too much about ER. The feat imbue with nature can take care of SR as well.

That would give you reflex and/or will air save or suck with some damage. And hard bfc in the form of 100 hp walls of force with ten 10sqft sections.
