Pathfinder help

So i joined a high power pathfinder game. we all have gestalt classes. I'm a Paladin/synthesist summoner. i plan on using a 2 handed weapon and having a total stat stick eidolon to wear. can i get some help on weapon enchantment ideas and magical items? possibly feats to help me be a little more powerful. I havenm't played pathfinder before but i have many years of 3.5 under my belt.

What is the rest of your party?

What role do you wish to fulfill in this group?

Synthesist nonsense can make you a powerhouse as in hard to hurt/kill, it could make you very strong. Give us a better idea of what you wish to use this char for.

Also, saying paladin is worthless. There are over 30 archetypes of paladin some of which can be paired up giving you something like 50 different class sets that all fall under the title and class of paladin.

What are the limiting factors of how this DM runs gestalt? Do you have to be straight class on both sides like you suggest in the op?

What books and 3rd party are available?
