Restoration typically takes 3 rounds to cast. If someone has a wand of Restoration, does the time to use go down to one standard action?

No (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wands.htm), it still would take 3 rounds.

This is an advantage to potions.

True true, but Restoration is a 4th level spell...

Good point. Going up against killer level draining creatures?

Eemies with status-condition spells that include negative levels yes.

Might I suggest a wand of resurgence?

If the spells allow for a save, resurgence, at a mere 750 a wand is probably your best bet, and can be as nessisary in some campaigns as the wand of CLW.

Well, I believe it was first printed in Complete Divine, but it has been reprinted in Spell Compendium (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/spells&tablefilter=resurgence). So if there's any difference between the two, Spell Compendium is the official version. But if you're like me and only have Complete Divine, you'll have to use that. :smallsigh:
