I mean, it does seem like an obvious question, with a more obvious answer. But I wanted to know what you guys thought or knew about the topic, considering that I know next to nothing about thrown items and their particular rules.

That's because thrown items don't really have any special rules. Even other ranged weapons like bows are more complicated. So, there's nothing preventing you from throwing weapons with both hands. If you have Quick Draw, Greater Two-Weapons Fighting and enough throwing axes you could throw seven axes in a Full Attack action.

yes. have a look at the general two weapon fighting rules (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/specialAttacks.htm#twoWeaponFighting) (not the feat):

Thrown Weapons

The same rules apply when you throw a weapon from each hand. Treat a dart or shuriken as a light weapon when used in this manner, and treat a bolas, javelin, net, or sling as a one-handed weapon.

Yep. As Gruftzwerg points out, the TWF rules don't care if your additional attack(s) is ranged or melee. You can also combine TWF + Rapid Shot with thrown weapons, if you think you can eat all of the attack penalties.

(Note: Complete Warrior, p. 30, last paragraph... an Exotic Weapon Master can ignore the attack penalties with an exotic thrown weapon.)
