Bard question

Just started storm kings thunder. I am playing a bard. The party consists of a Ranger, a hexblade warlock, a barbarian, and a twilight Cleric. We just hit level two. Since I have not played this module before, and I don’t want any heavy spoilers, but of course I want to play a character with a high survivability, which bard college would shine in that adventure? Since we don’t have any full arcane casters I know Lore would do well. I have also heard that valor is very survivable in that campaign. I am not sure how many social situations you run into for eloquence to shine. Any advice/tips?

We played through SKT and our valour bard did quite well for himself both as the face and in combat.

Would a swords bard work in lieu of a valor bard in that campaign?

Any bard will do fine, I doubt if you play alongside the twilight cleric that you will be at risk of dying. Pick what looks fun, I always suggest lore but if you want to be in armor than valor is solid as well.
