This might be a long-shot, but its something that has bugged me on and off for years. Would anyone be able to help me identify a board game that I played many many years ago please?

The game board had a moulded 3D spinner thing in the middle and a tower at one end. The "tower" had holes in it, that you had to put small plastic sword into, in order to drop a "ruby" out of it. I played it in the mid to late 90s and have not seen it since. For some reason, it has stuck with me all these years, and I have never been able to identify it.

Sounds vaguely like Fireball Island.

I took a look, and sadly that is not the game I am looking for. Thank-you for trying though, much appreciated!

Some cursory searching I found Tower of the Wizard King and Dark Tower.

No idea if either one is what you want, but they both have towers at least.

Neither of those sadly. Thanks though!

Is it Curse of the Idol? (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1867/curse-idol)

I think it might just be! A little different from the 20+ year old foggy memory in my mind, yet eerily similar nonetheless.
Thank-you and thank-you again! I can't believe that I finally have an answer to this riddle!

Sounds like something really familiar but I can't remember, sorry.
