Damage Reduction

When damage reduction states "Damage Reduction/ magic and slashing" does that mean that the weapon needs to be a magic slashing weapon, or can it be magic or slashing?

I was confused because I've seen people reply saying that if it means the weapon needs to be BOTH, it will read as "Damage Reduction/ magic slashing"

If it says "and", its and. The so "DR/Magic and Slashing" means its overcome by a magic weapon dealing slashing damage. Compare a lich's "damage reduction 15/bludgeoning and magic" to the "Damage reduction 5/good or silver" of a lemure. A Lemure's damage reduction can be overcome by a weapon that either good or silver, while the lich needs a weapon that's simultaneously both.
