GENGY and THE GERBIL HORDE VOLUNTEERS!

On Panel 1 and 6, you know him, you love him, it's the best (and probably only) gerbloid around: GENGY!

On Second Panel, we've got the goblin with the single eye, the speaker who's real fly: NARRATOR!

Panel 3 is a work of laughter and love, brought to you by the only volunteer with a real instrument (in his avatar): FLAME MASTER AXEL!

He died so that he could be Nobody, he's worried that things are going Nowhere, he's Panel #4: MECHAFOX!

Panel 5 has got the real jive, the unreadable clerk with the penciled work: ILLITERATE SCRIBE!

Please, folks, hold your applause till after the show. Oh, wait, it's over. Go ahead and express emotion or not. Personally, I loved doing this... it was a challenge to make Panel 1 for me, and it was a REAL challenge not to show anyone after I'd finished that panel, lol.

Here were the instructions to the volunteers: (sans Panel Assignments)
Thank you, volunteers. The premise of this idea is simple. Gengy (That'd be my character, not myself) is traveling via Plot Hook into the ABR realms.

Obviously, this happens by going through several different artists.

Which means us.

So, the entire script for this comic is

Panel 1: "Something..."
Panel 2: "...feels..."
Panel 3: "...really..."
Panel 4: "...booping..."
Panel 5: "...WEIRD."
Panel 6: "Woah. So. That's what different artists are like. I feel numb."

All I ask is that you use this picture (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/waywordfool/OotSAvatars/ABRPanel.jpg) and re-create it, then add the appropriate text for your panel. Add whatever flavor to the background that you wish. More stars, flying space mermaids, whatever. So long as the hook with Gengy sitting on it is the main part of the image (and the appropriate speech bubble).

Panels MUST be 260 pixels high and 320 pixels wide. That's so when I composite everything, it all comes out right. Please make them a .jpg or .png file when you upload them.

Tips for drawing Gengy (ignore these if you want)
- He’s only slightly taller than a Halfling or a Kobold, but slightly shorter than your standard Rich Burlew dwarf.
- Don’t forget the blue clasp on his cloak. I sometimes do.
- Six whiskers, three on each side. From the top down, it’s big to small.
- I don’t draw him with legs, just pants and moving shoes. But if you want legs, go for it.
- Give him a bottom lip. I dunno why, but it looks better.

I realize this is voluntary, but the sooner you get the picture (with appropriate script word in there!) to me, the sooner the first (as far as I can see) official ABR artist collaboration comic is done (within one new comic, I mean. The WHOLE thing is an artist collab, lol.)

I dunno if I'll do this again as a Canon strip, cause it put Gengy (the character) on hold for a couple weeks... but non-canon? It was a blast doing up the script, making the original image, and seeing what everyone else came up with. I'm STILL laughing at FMAxel's 'Death Star' background, though my favorite is probably Illiterate Scribe's, cause he took the stars in the original picture and made a constellation out of them.

What's everyone's favorite in the composition, if I may ask? Post reasons, if you don't mind... it helps.

I've always thought that the change should happen suddenly, ie, NC looks normal for a while, and then suddenly, on entry into combat, *BAMF!*, Vampire just kicked in yo, much to the strange looks from the rest of them.

Merinas - A place subjected harshly to necromantic experimentation during the days of the Moon Elf Empire under the supervision of Grand Lieutenant Vex the Malign, it has since fallen largely into ruin save sparse necropoli. Merinas was one of the first countries to fall to the Empire and was gifted to Lieutenant Vex for his part in the Empire's expansion.
Lockutas - One of the short list of nations to stand in opposition to the Moon Elf Empire and survive, Lockutas paid the price for its insolence once it was conquered by attrition. Much of the technology in Lockutas is steam-powered, and they were defeated by the Empire freezing all the water sources in the nation, thus starving them of fuel. This has had a profound effect on the local climate to date, much of the land is still a harsh winterland. Legends of ancient relics from Lockutas' glory days haunt the lips of it's citizens, who yearn for the time when the country was a viable power in politics.

Herea - Herea submitted absolutely and completely to the Moon Elf Empire, and gave them full support. However, as a small nation, they had little to give the empire, they could barely produce enough food to support themselves. As such, Herea was subject to extreme agricultural expansion during the Age of Dragons, covering much of the fertile land with farms. This left the island relatively peaceful within the Empire, to the point that they aren't even aware it has collapsed. However, the growth in foods attracted the creatures that now inhabit the outlying area of Regen. In defense of Herea, is the Order of the Cloaked Flame, a group of xenophobic paladins headed by a Grand Maester priest. Presently, this priest is Sierra Marshall, a clergywoman of Plotus who is said to channel his divine might in defense of all external threats.

Regen - Outside the relatively peaceful land of Herea lies the forsaken Regen. So named for it's massive population of regenerative beasts, such as Hydras, Trolls, and the dreaded Tarrasque that sleeps underground off the coast, Regen is a dense marshland that was left untouched by the agricultural development of Herea. Whilst much of the inhabitants are mindless or tribal, the primary power in Regen is a sentient 12-headed pyrohydra warlord named Polymus, who demands the obedience of his peers by intimidation and brute strength.

Helina - a large, volcanic desert in the far west that is the source of many choatic creations.
While the lands of helina have no central seats of power, the many warlords and sorcerers around often team up to fight outsiders, usually as raiders.
The technology of helina is incredibly high, they have technological advancement in warfare beyond any other, while equal in advancement to "real world" (and I mean real, real world.) they have taken other, weird paths. (no gunpowder weaponry and no engines (and therefor no tanks and stuff.), but instead they have tesla coils, disk shooters, jetpacks, goggles that let you predict enemy movements and more high-edge combat technology.)
Helina was never conquered, as it is too hard to be worth it, but many helinan warlords and sorcerers have joined up with the dro- moon elven empire, in order to gather pillage and have "fun in fighting."
Naturally, the helinan ranks in the dro- moon elven army where not uniform, and have very different machines and weapons from squad to squad, as a direct result of them being mercenaries. and some helinan where fighting versus the dro- moon elven empire again as a result of them being mercenaries.

Naturally helina is the home of boomwolf. and I will show off the technology of helina now and then in ABR if you want. (boomwolf have some things he has yet to use, and I can show "other" helinan NPC's that show up for fighting and stuff.)

You know what, I'll work on some generic helinan soldiers and war machines and put each up once he is finished. so you can use them in your "remember" comics, or maybe people could make them pop up in ABR time to time (or visit helina.), they made no real progress in technology for hundreds of years, jest increased the range and damage output of the weapons.

In case you are wondering, the helinans discovered electricity and batteries. quite amusing considering they never discovered steam power or and other normal "real-world" method of mass-production of electricity.

I mean, for creating a campaign setting, mapping out is fine. But I do not see the reason why every possible piece of land should be decided we are not currently using it. The only possible result could be that if something creates e.g. a samurai character from an Oriental-like nation, someone might tell him that is not possible because there isn't such a nation in this world. Of course he could create a loophole of some kind, but that would still destory part of the joy.

There are LOTS of drawing programs that are free. Try out the GIMP, I'm not going to argue against how it compares to photoshop but at least it beats paint. Or you may want to give inkscape a try.

To save you all the headache, Illel is the elf who sacrificed himself to destroy Sidyu. Unfortunatley for him, Apenguin failed his spellcraft check (Fantasticly, Natural-1 critical fumble) and was under the mistaken impression the retribuitive strike caused Illel to forfiet ressurection. Otherwise Kraugh would have just ressurected him.

Which is why I omitted a bunch of his stuff. Either it A) breaks the plot, B) doesn't fit in with the plot, or C) makes no sense. I mean, seriously, you throw characters in without introducing them, and when you do try your hand at exposition, it's in an unwieldy block of text that makes little sense to someone who doesn't already know exactly what you're planning. Show, don't tell. Try to just follow the plot with one character with a while, and don't try to tackle more than you can handle.

Well I tried to mix up the headstones a bit, but I did make it as a quick job as it was, so coming up with an entirely new headstone design based on flying fish wasn't a priority

I think they're still around, but things have gotten pretty slow so they probably don't have much of an impetus to make something. Hence my nudge comic showing the probable location of the next key (Which probably means it was the half-orc, visiting, staying, and subsequently dying in Salmonville)
