I'm preparing for a desert campaign at the moment, the starting level is anything from 6-8, I'm playing a shifter Rogue (14str, 14dex, 14con, 12int, 8wis, 12cha).
we start out the campaign with starting gold at 1000gp per level (so 6000-8000gp)
Apart from a replenishing skin and some sandals of the shifting sands, I have no idea what to get (3,500gp allready spent).
I'd like to get some good weapon or armour properties (probably a shortsword and a chain shirt)
I have access to the magic item compendium, sandstorm, and the Eberron books.
Does anyone have any other ideas for items in my price range? (my current items allready mean I'm unaffected by the weather)

What kind of enemies have you been facing?

I'm not sure yet, so I guess being prepared for anything in the desert is a good idea (we probably won't face water elementals :smallwink: )

Well, in a desert, probably a lot of things with the fire subtype, so get some cold items.

Yep, you'll face something fiery, I'm sure. So either get something to bash them with or protect youself from them with.

I think you should get a turban and have your guy grow a beard though. +2 to Diplomacy and Bluff checks in the desert yo'know. :smallcool:

Pick up the armor stone from MIC that gives you continuous Endure Elements. It costs 500 GP IIRC, and its well worth it for a desert game.

Ring of Endure Elements is 2100 gp, allows you to survive up to 140 degrees F without sustaining any bad effects. Essentially instant survival.

A magic sleeping bag from the Mini's handbook costs 1000 gp, grants endures elements while you are sleeping, and cures 1 additional hp per character level on top of Natural healing.

A Magic Fan tokens are 200 gp each, and produce a strong 25 mile per hour wind, enough to create a windstorm to stop enemy projectiles, or to ward off weak sandstorms. It lasts 8 hours, enough to get a nap.

the sandals allready give me endure elements (and unempeded & untrackable movement through sand), but some of these options look far better value for gp
