.....Haley and Belkar joined ranks with Nale and his team in the cloistered city for the sole reason of survival of all? Haley is a rogue/thief after all and Belkar is well...Belkar.

The Linear guild arent in AC anymore and they have no reason to come back. Would have been cool though.

Except we saw Nale Exit, Stage Left (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0458.html). So why would he return to Azure City? Especially since he has recruiting to do, not to mention research on finding the other Gates.

But....did they get out in time?

Nale and friends flew away in full daylight. The lich didn't cast his spell until full dark. Easy minimum is 2 hours and they are at least 5 miles away from the city even at the rather restrictive D&D movement rates. Being 10-20 is not out of the question.
So unless it makes a really neat addition to the story, they got away.

Considering that Xykon was the only person in the Evil Army with the ability to intercept fliers, and considering that his exploits during the battle were reasonably well documented, it follows that the Linear Guild did, indeed, escape.

I belive that eventually the Linear Guild will have to team up with the Order of the Stick, but not now.

In my opinion, if Haley and Belkar are still free and safe in AC and are going to be rescued by anyone, it's going to be by Captain Julio Scoundrel. He's the only person in my opinion with the resources and the daring to break into the city, plus the added bonus of probably not needing a logical reason to go there. Just needs something like, "a client has valuable merchandise that was lost when the city fell. He goes there to retrieve it, finds Haley and Belkar and helps them escape... All in heroic and daring fashion. ).

There's no way that thet'll happen, atleast in the near future. The charter of the LG specifies that their purpose is to destroy OOTS. Haley and Belkar are still members, and thusly, there's no way that the LG would be willing to do it.

This prediction ceases to aply after the next gate is reached.

Also, if the thread is marked as 'spoilers', then the post don't need to be spoilered.

Not to be a wet blanket or anything, but what about the reanimated planetars and such? (eg, OotS #300, final panel, et al)

Anyway, for what it's worth, I tend to agree it wouldn't be 'dramatically appropriate' enough for Nale, so yea, they escaped... dramatically...
