Help with creating a binder

So this will be my first time playing in 3.5 for a long long time. The basic idea is we are a rag tag bunch trying to take down adventurers and clean up after their messes. In this game, we can play as any race and any class from the official books. We have all chosen some pretty strange races, i myself will be playing a djinn, and a carrying bunch of classes. The class I have chosen is a binder, and we are starting at level 2 (one level for djinn and one for binder). I was thinking of making this a dex based ranged combatant with some support abilities. Absolutely not a frontline fighter.

Any ideas how to build this kind of character?
