I'm planning on building an Alienist for a game and I thought I'd ask about summoning magic, since I've never really had a wizard before that was interested in, or even cast, summoning magic. I have the prereqs, Augmented Summoning and its requirements, but I'm not sure beyond that. Are there any good feats hidden out there in the array of 3.5 books? I have a good idea of buff magic to use on my summons, but are there any particular, possibly obscure spells I should look for?

Spells... no, I can't particularly think of any. The Spell Compendium has some interesting summon spells, but nothing spectacular.

You should be using this variant (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#conjurerVariants) (the first one, at least; the second can be okay and the third's not all that god), if you're not already and your DM allows it. Full-round casting times are annoying. (Too bad about losing the pseudonatural familiar, but if you really want it you can take Obtain Familiar and get it back.)

Feats- You've got Augmented Summoning already. Beckon the Frozen, from Frostburn, will add the cold subtype and 1d6 cold damage to each attack to all your summons if you feel like it. Imbued Summons, from the Player's Handbook II, lets your summoned monsters come into existence with a low-level buff, although the metamagic cost means the monsters are less powerful.

Libris Mortis has a few for bolstering summoned undead.

When I read your thread title I though you'd be asking for the stats of "Aliens" xenomorphs for summoning. I mean, that would definitely make you the ultimate Conjurer.

Trouble under Waterdeep? Never mind, just seal all the entries and exits of a given area. I'll unleash the hive inside it. Too bad we'll haver to nuke the dungeon, it's the only way to be sure...

More IT, the 3rd variant is a bit for Yu-Gi-Oh style, but the emphasis on speedplay isn't that bad!

I had a summoner play in a campaign of mine once. It was fun and not overpowered. (TLN's guide to wizard says summoners are underpowered, I do not agree with that.) That character also used the rapid summoning variant and I let him use the spontaneous summoning variant as well, without the drop in level. (So a level 4 spell slot used to spontaneously cast a summoning spell would give a 4th level summoning spell.)
I also made a PrC for him to use, which he never did. I also uploaded the PrC here: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=117192
