Anyone happen to know a base class that gets turn undead early on, other than cleric?
Existing character in the game, is LN.
Characters main gimmick is turn undead, and I don't want to take that away, but for one reason or another, they are about to have their cleric levels turned to something else.

Druids get a second level spell for Turn Undead (https://web.archive.org/web/20201111200627/http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mb/20040721a).

It needs to be the turn/rebuke undead class ability.

Well if the character doesn’t mind switching to the other side of the force, dread necromancers get rebuke undead.

According to Lists of Stuff, in terms of base classes, in addition to Cleric and Dread Necromancer, there's Paladin (at 4th), and Divine Mind (4th) using an ACF (http://web.archive.org/web/20210729143627/http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070629a).

Does it have to be a base class? Plenty of prestige classes give Turn or Rebuke undead.

I second Dread Necromancer. They can get Ghostly Visages, who are OP as familiar. It can "Meld" into creatures and wrestle for control (not a mindaffecting ability !). The Ego Score gets boosted by the special familiar abilities and the INT score adjustment. Take control over something with a low Will save and use it as meatshield or for its special abilities. Or get them to reveal anything they know. Countless possibilities.

Add Divine Metamagic and you can buff up you "puppet" for extra cheese (e.g. Divine Power for a monster).

If you wanna see a the full build around the exploit potential of the Ghostly Visage abuse, have a look at my Sakon & Ukon build. Ukon becomes a template for the Ghostly Visage familiar (effectively becoming the familiar). With this "Ukon" can now meld into enemies and grow his body parts on them (Morphic Weapons from Warshaper) for extra fun.
