Hey everyone,
I just made this avatar last night, and I have a couple questions...

1) How can I eliminate the white box around it? It's a pain.
2) How do you like it? Any advice? This is my first OotS style drawing ever, so...
3) How can I get it to not look so pixely and still fit in the little space?
4) Just so you know, I am using Microsoft Paint to draw with, and Photobucket to upload.

Allow me to refer you to the Arts & Crafts section (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27), where all your doubts can be solved.

If you use a thicker brush you can get a smoother line. Also, MS paint is the bare bones of Graphic Design, avoid it if possible. I use Photoshop, but I'm an art student, so I can't really think of a free equivalent at the moment.

I'm sure the other fine people here will be able to chip in some advice.

Also, the pictures good. Its your first? Fantastic, everyone starts somewhere.

^: I used to dis MS Paint, too, but then I found some people who really knew how to avatar with it and have a bit of respect for it now. =P

Firstly, this should be in Arts and Crafts.

Since I had nothing but homework to do, here's a version of your avatar without the white background:

well, a popular choice around here is Inkscape (http://inkscape.org/), an open source vector graphics program. I don't use it myself, but I see a lot of great avatars produced by it.

I use MS Photodraw 2000, which is kind of the next step down from Photoshop.

hey, my uncle worked for Microsoft, so it was free.
