Creating an NPC that worships a star goddess that deals with fate and prophecy.

He wears a blindfold to cover his scarred eyes, but is granted truesight through his worship.

Trying to come up wit a cool title or name. any suggestions.

Is he an important figure, like the head of this goddess's widely-recognized cult? Then I'd go for something grandiose that mixes real word roots, like the High Astrologician or Supreme Celsestiarch.

If he's just some guy with these powers and some weird beliefs? Something familiar sounding and unassuming, like Blind Armin or No-Eyes Karl.

Race?
Setting?
Is the blindness thing tied to their family line, or unique to that individual?
For the title part, does their religion have hierarchies or is it organized more loosely?

Race is human, setting is Farland (pretty standard Lord of the Rings esque fantasy).

Blind sight thing is a gift granted by his goddess, so individual thing.

Yes the religion has a hierarchy, although this specific NPC is more of a wandering prophet who is gaining a reputation. So he is not officially high ranking in this church, instead gaining renown among the common people for his abilities of foresight.

For the title, I suggest Stargazer.

For the name I suggest Adabertus.

Starwatcher Res Iasti

Having a title that includes a verb related to sight is appropriate for a god of phrophecy and would create a moment of subverted expectations when your party thinks they're blind, and then again when they find out they're not. Res Iasti is an anagram of Tiresias, a blind prophet from Greek mythology.

These are all bad, but might trigger something good ...

You can also apply the nickname based on a different perspective, like Twice blessed. Once when he went blind, once when he or she got gifted with truesight.

Nightshimmer has a good sound to it.

As for Tiresias-- why anagram it? Its good as-is.

Or for the esoteric movie buff... Blind Pew.

Behind the Name (https://www.behindthename.com/random/) is usually my go-to source when I need a name for someone. It can generate random names, narrowed down by language (and includes some options like wrestler or fairy or goth names), or you can search for a specific meaning and see if a name pops out at you.

For example, Lochan (https://www.behindthename.com/name/lochan) Qismat (https://www.behindthename.com/name/qismat).

Thanks this is really useful for coming up with setting appropriate names

I agree Tiresias is an awesome name on its own.

Sum Blyn Doohd has a nice ring to it.

Riffing on the Tiresias theme, you could name him something like Tyris or Tyrese pronounced Tie-reece. It doesn't sound goofy and it's not some ultra-pretentious name no parent would actually name their child.

im an unoriginal hack when it comes to names, i tend to take a name from something i like that loosely fits with the theme/idea im going for.

so a blind seer? you could try "Urza, Blind Seer"
