I've been planning an eberron campaign, bouncing between the Forgotten Forge series and the murder mysteries presented in Dungeon Magazine;Fallen Angel, Murder in Oakbridge, Chimes at Midnight, Steel Shadows, and the Chimes sequels. Fighting off an interplanar invasion would be a fun capstone, and I could handwave Eberron's unique cosmology.
But I want to make it work in Eberron. Let's replace Vlaakith with a Daelkyr, and her monsters with similar CR creatures from Xoriat. Obviously I've got my work cut out to rework both the tactics and relationships between the bad guys. Before I get too deep, has anyone done this? Would anyone be interested in an update?
I should say that I know Fallen Angel isn't a murder mystery, but is still a pretty fun campaign with an obvious followup. Maybe another Angel is sending search parties for the last piece of that statue and wishes to rule with Sythrael is organizing the invasion?
