So this was the guy who flew hanging from a tow rope tied to a drone.

Technically some of the basic familiars could do this , if your character was light enough, but they would either be very slow, or you would be pretty much naked.
The Flying Monkey Familiar being small and having an 8 strength avoids these problems, but is available only through GMs fiat.
So what other options are there?
Wildfire Spirit is the earliest that comes to mind.
Also small in size, it has 10 strength and it is able to hover.
Rather than a tow rope, a staff with a ring at the top and footrest at the bottom could be very snazzy.
Hell, a lift chair is possible, but not as stylish, and it eats up weight.
Summon Beast offers another method at 3rd level, but other than these, I see no low level ways to attempt this.
