I had an idea for a character that likes to have lots of minions with poisoned weapons (why yes, I did just start watching Naruto: Shippuden, why do you ask?).
It seems like probably the easiest way to achieve this would be through necromancy, since that gives you permanent minions and all. But I like the idea of doing this with a summoner.

What immediately came to mind was doing something pairing the Poison Spell and Imbued Summoning feats, but I don’t think those would actually work within the rules.

Are there any obscure sources for ways to summon creatures with poison already applied to them? I’m not looking for summons with native poison.

Cloudy Conjuration is very very broadly in the same conceptual space, creating sickening smoke whenever you cast a conjuration spell.

Yeah I had considered that, but it didn’t really do exactly what I wanted. Definitely a good thought though.

I think the move may just to be to have a big Bag of Holding full of skeletons covered in poison and you empty the bag at the beginning of combat haha.

The issue I can forsee is I'm pretty sure body parts of summoned creatures disappear when they do. I assume this would include poison. Pretty sure this is stated somewhere in the rules or errata, possibly in relation to webs from summoned spiders.

You could focus on summoning monsters which wield weapons, such as most outsiders, and hand them the poisoned weapons on the round that they are summoned. Some familiars (such as monkeys, or most improved familiars) could also help with that.

It would be most effective for archers, since then you could prepare many poisoned arrows (and depending on your spell choices, perhaps also cast greater magic weapon or other spells on the bow/ammunition as well), but there aren't many summons that are strong archers right off the bat.

The character in question was replicated in that old psionic naruto thread as an astral construct specialist. One of the puppets was a grappler and the other had poison iirc

I know that a lot of calling spells enable you to conjure specific individuals, which would allow you to pre-prep them. I'm not sure about summoning though

Oh yeah Astral Construct replicates the puppet ninja concept very well, but the episode that really caught my attention was when Sasori used “Red Secret Technique: Performance of a Hundred Puppets” which is obviously pretty tough to pull off with AC. Summoning at least lets you summon more individuals off of lower lists.

A high lvl solution would be:

Dvati + Poison Spell + Body Outside Body
Go for a wizard/sorcerer as base class and get BoB via Wyrm Wizard

Dvati have a special interaction with the BoB clones. You can basically share any spell (especially if you add Arcane Fusion into the mix). The build can "summon" BoB clones and share a Poison Spell - Touch Spell.
If you wanna know more on Dvati + BoB cheese, have a look at my Dvati Sorcerers of the Arcane Legion (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?639734-Cooperative-Dvati-Sorcerers-of-the-Arcane-Legions)build.

Unfortunately i think it used a rule from Hyperconscious that allowed the control spell to be permanent

Thrallherd would be another potential option, you could get literally a hundred puppets. They'd be pretty weak overall though.
