Gith Paladin?

Hey all. Does anyone have any thoughts on a Gith (Githyanki or Githzerai) Paladin concept? I’m assuming Githyanki (given their martial focus) would be the best option. With the new rules, we have so much flexibility and I love the idea of an Oath of Conquest Paladin.
If anyone has any experience with a similar character idea, please share.

Mechanically I regard MPMM Githzerai as stronger, but Githyanki isn't terrible. It won't give you any extra 'martial focus' but it will give you Misty Step.
