Other than when Rich hurt his hand and planned hiatuses between books, is this (41 days so far) the longest ever gap, or have there been longer ones? This is not a complaint, just information gathering.

I feel like there were such random gaps in the past, but is just conjecture on my part, maybe I'm just misremembering the planned hiatus.
I'm also interested if such trivia is easily acessible, I can only think of checking and comparing the Giant's past OOTS #XXXX - The Discussion Threads or tweets, someone more savy than I could probably automate such process.

It's been 6,982 days since the start of OotS. There are 1,269 strips (of the main line). That's 5 and a ½ days between as some sort of average. Given all the extra material produced, lets say a strip per week. I don't care if we from time to time have to wait a bit longer than that. Who does not like to take a break once in a while.

Metamagic Mod: regardless of whether it's complaining or information gathering, discussing the update schedule is generally not the done thing.
