Redcloak has met the order several times now but does not seem to have done any investigations of them .
Why it is quite normal for XYkon to react given, I am a bit surprised Xykon is not more proactive .

This is a goblin who has been shown to think ahead several times . even if he thinks the order is a B Team , he should be worried about a A -Team opposing him

Any ideas ?

What should he have done? He barely remembers Roy's name. That's not much to start an investigation. Reddie is a busy goblin and managing Xykon is very time consuming.

What exactly could Redcloak have done to investigate the Order?

They are hardly the only group of characters they have encountered that have tried to foil their plans. To us, they are the MCs. To RedCloak, they are a Tuesday attack, no more noteworthy than the time a bunch of druids jumped out of the office fern. MitD succinctly exposes their relevance to Team Evil here (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0901.html).

Redcloak has had to deal with at least three separate enemy factions. The Sapphire Guard, the Resistance and their elven allies, and the Order of the Stick. That's a lot of people, a lot of names, and a lot of interference with his plans.

I would also like to point out that he never says O-Chul's name during the interrogations. Likely he never bothered to find out what it is. From what we've seen, the only names Redcloak seems to put the effort into memorizing are those of goblinoids and his allies - whether they be long term like xykon or short term like tsukiko.

Imagine that there are three or four other level appropriate groups of adventurers that Redcloak and Xykon deal with as well that simply happens off screen because we are following the OOtS, not the other groups.

That's the thing of being a bad guy in a self-aware parady universe. You are the big bad for a bunch of groups all working the same adventure path.

Note to self, Greenhilt (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0900.html) is a goblonoid or ally of Redcloak. :smallamused:

Did Redcloak put effort into remembering that name? Or did his annoyance just cause it to stick? He doesn't know any of the others' names in the party, even Durkon whom he had a long deep negotiation with. (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1210.html)

To the best of my knowledge, Roy only ever declared his name in earshot of Redcloak once (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0110.html). Durkon never did.

Roy said it multiple times actually, courtesy of xykon. (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0112.html)

Ok? I don't really see what your looking for here, or how much effort you want to fit your criteria. You even complained about him not knowing Durkons name even after a lengthy discussion, in which Durkon never gave his name. And yet Reddie still managed to remember he was in Greenhilt's party.

This is an odd hill to die on. In no small part because it doesn't even seem to be terribly recognizable as a hill to start with..

Do we know that? Tsukiko knew the names of both Haley (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0514.html) and Belkar (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0520.html) and how she talked about Haley made it quite obvious the Gobbotopia security apparatus was aware of her as well –and it would seem that the hobgoblin spy's reports, at least, did reach Redcloak.
