Well, my group has recently started a modern campaign but we seem to be having troubles finding appropriate miniatures, as there tends to be a definite plate-mail deficiency in the setting. The local hobby store has nothing we're looking for so I ask if anyone knows where one might locate miniatures which would fit into a modern setting, something along the lines of "Bob from accounting" or "Jim the police officer".

Copplestone Castings (http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/)

Iron Wind Metals (http://www.ironwindmetals.com)
-look at their Shadowrun line - it's cyberpunk, but there's some good modern-ish figs in there.

Honestly, though, Copplestone is awesome. Good casts, reasonable prices, good shipping. I felt compelled to list IWM as a former employee, but Copplestone is the best source I can think of for modern figs offhand.

Wow, those are actually what I was looking for, thanks a bunch. It's so hard to find good minis these days.

When Darkness Comes by Twilight Creations (http://www.twilightcreationsinc.com/) has a half dozen "regular guy" style minitures in the base set, and (iirc) 1 or 2 more with each expansion.
I can't see any pics of them on the site, but memory tells me they're decent quality metal figs similar scale to DDM or Warhammer.
I can try rooting them out later and post a photo if you're interested.

The game itself by the way is sort of a cross between a board game and an RPG.

Edit: actually see board game geek (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/images/game/3801) for pictures.

RAFM Minatures has a handful of really good ones. They're modern hero without going completely nuts (though the dual SMG wielding Elvis Impersonator is kinda out there...)

Seriously though, check them out.

There's These guys (http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/SV/index.asp) from Foundry. They're fun, though I've found the scale to be a little smaller than most other miniature companies.
