Wandering Soul

A wandering soul is the epitome of the knight errant, a weaponmaster who seeks to broaden themselves by traveling and seeking wisdom from the wider world. They focus on their spiritual connection to their chosen weapons and their techniques, creating sages of battle that are without peer.

Class features modified or replaced by this Archetype: Weapon and Armor Proficiency, Mount, Mounted Archer, Honorable Stand, Last Stand, Challenge, Demanding Challenge, Banner, Greater Banner, Weapon Expertise

Proficiencies: The wandering soul gains proficiency with simple weapons, the Dueling Sword, Katana, Naginata, Nodachi, Tetsubo, Wakizashi, and a single martial or exotic weapon of their choice. They are proficient with light armor but not with any shields other than their Soul of the Warrior ability.
This modifies Weapon and Armor Proficiency.

Veiled Soul: The wandering soul treats their Wisdom as their veilweaving modifier and their samurai level as their veilweaving level for the veils shaped using this archetype. The wandering soul gains 1 point of essence at 1st level, 2nd level, and every 2 levels thereafter.
This replaces the Order class ability.

Soul of the Warrior (Su): A warrior lives and dies by their weapon, but their weapon is nothing without its scabbard to guard it. At 1st level the wandering soul gains the ability to shape the Bushi’s Scabbard (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Bushi%27s_Scabbard?so=search) veil. This veil does not count against their limit of veils shaped or as shaped in its veil slot and cannot be bound normally. At 4th level they treat this veil as if it were bound to the Wrists chakra for determining its effects. At 14th level they treat this veil as if it were bound to the Belt chakra to determine its effects.
This replaces the Mount and Mounted Archer class abilities.

Unwavering (Su): The wandering soul shrugs off wounds that at first seem life threatening. At 1st level they gain the ability to shape the Unyielding (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Unyielding) veil, increasing the number of veils they may have shaped by 1. At 11th level they may bind this veil to their shoulders chakra, and at 20th level they may bind it to their body chakra.
This replaces the Honorable Stand and Last Stand class abilities.

Mysterious Wanderer (Su): The wandering soul values their anonymity and uses this to their advantage in combat. At 2nd level they gain the ability to shape the Domino of the Roguish Scoundrel veil and increase the number of veils they can shape by 1. At 6th level they may bind this veil to their Head chakra and at 12th level they may bind this veil to their Headband chakra.
This replaces the Challenge and Demanding Challenge class abilities.

Daisho Expertise (Ex): At 3rd level the wandering soul gains a better understanding of their chosen weapons. They gain the Daisho Expertise (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Daisho_Expertise?so=search) feat and may apply its effects to their Bushi’s Scabbard. In addition, whatever weapon they have sheathed in their Bushi’s Scabbard gains a +2 bonus on the confirmation roll on any critical hit they threaten when drawing it from the scabbard. Finally, their class levels count as fighter levels and stack with any fighter levels they possess for the purposes of meeting the prerequisites for feats that specifically select his chosen weapon, such as Weapon Specialization (https://www.aonprd.com/FeatDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Weapon%20Specialization) , and those feats apply to his Bushi’s Scabbard (when applicable) as well as the weapon sheathed in it.
This replaces the Weapon Expertise class ability.

Improved Essence Capacity: The wandering soul meditates on the way of bushido and their place within the world. At 4th level and 14th level the maximum essence capacity of all their receptacles increases by 1.

Swordsage Arts (Su): The wandering soul has meditated and traveled to learn to connect to the spirits of elements around them. At 5th level they gain the ability to shape the Sigil of Imbuement veil and increase the number of veils they can have shaped by 1. The wandering soul may treat the Bushi’s Scabbard veil and the weapon sheathed within it as a single weapon for the purpose of being imbued. At 9th level they may treat this veil as if it were bound to the Wrists chakra to determine its effects.
This ability replaces the Banner and Greater Banner class Abilities.

Bonus Feat: The wandering soul adds akashic feats (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Akashic_Feats) to those they may select with their bonus feats class feature.
This modifies the Bonus Feat class ability.

The Order of the Inviolate Will is a Cavalier/Samurai Order (https://www.aonprd.com/CavalierOrders.aspx). It is part of the Shards of Power playtest, the whole google doc can be found here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jJ4Rdjjb7N22aNZwvEeva8UcRaQLjCMOwb_pnAlyWSM/edit?usp=sharing)

Order of the Inviolate Will
The soul is the bastion of both personality and immortality, and removing a soul from the great cycle is a travesty indeed. Members of this order devote themselves to the preservation of the souls of others and the destruction of beings that would consume or waylay souls from the cycle of life and death. This leads them into conflict with Daemons and Hags more often than not, but intelligent undead are also targeted by adherents of this order.

Edicts: an order of the inviolate will adherent must protect the souls of others from being consumed, destroyed, or tainted whenever possible. This is worth more than their life, as a consumed or destroyed soul has no hereafter.

Challenge: Whenever an adherent of this order issues their challenge, they receive a +2 bonus on saves against Mind-Affecting effects and any effect that would target their soul, such as the magic jar (https://www.aonprd.com/SpellDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Magic%20Jar) spell.

Skills: an adherent to this order adds Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (planes), and Knowledge (religion) to their class skill list.

Order Abilities
Veilweaving: At 2nd level the adherents of this order learn to draw on their own soul to defend the souls of others. Upon gaining this ability they must choose a single mental ability score. That score now becomes their veilweaving score and determines their veilweaving modifier. They treat their veilweaving level as their class level and they learn a number of veils equal to their veilweaving modifier with the Force (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Force_Veils), Good (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Good_Veils), Healing (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Healing_Veils), Law (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Law_Veils), or Light (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Light_Veils) descriptor. If the cavalier gains a permanent increase to their veilweaving modifier, they may learn new veils for each increase to their veilweaving modifier. They may shape 1 of these veils each morning after spending 1 hour meditating.

Essence: the adherent of this order gains an essence pool with 1 point of essence in it. They gain an additional point of essence at 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter.

Lesser Bound Will: At 8th level the adherent grows in their ability to draw on their own soul. They gain the Unlock Low Binding (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Unlock_Low_Binding) feat as a bonus feat and may shape 1 additional veil.

Greater Bound Will (Su): At 15th level the adherent’s ability to draw out the power of their soul reaches its peak. They gain the Unlock Middle Binding (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Unlock_Middle_Binding) feat as a bonus feat and may shape an 1 additional veil.
