If you take Improved Familiar, does that grant you access to ALL of the improved familiars listed in all the books, or do you only get the ones listed for a specific instance of Improved Familiar in one book? If I'm a changeling wizard, does my familiar gain access to all of the monsters listed in all the books? Alternatively, if I lose my familiar (via dismissal or death), can I choose any familiar listed under the feat entry in every single book with improved familiars?

An inquiring mind wants to know!

You get access to any improved familiar.

As long as the improved familiars themselves don't offer any restrictions, I would think so. (Not going to look it up at the moment, but if for example Stormwrack gave you a Dire Goldfish if you're in an aquatic environment, you couldn't pick it if you're on land).

Yeah, my understanding is the feat gives you access to any IF that you meet the reqs for.
