MODS:I'm fairly sure that this is the right forum, but I'm not entirely sure. Arts & Crafts didn't seem like quite the right place ...

Anyway, this thread's purpose is to compile the best, most classic pictures, from all of the Wizards of the Coast books, along with the most booping ridiculous descriptions.

I'll start with a few of my favourites:

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/compscoundrel_gallery/102037.jpg

Pimpmaster Krusk and Devis' gold-plated codpiece: lolwut?

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ff_gallery/50103.jpg

No. Just no.

Its 'wriggling progeny' ability makes it all the harder to believe that it isn't intentional.

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/dmag_gallery/100228.jpg

Truly, a better image was never made for CHARGIN MAH LAZOR!

So, people. Any other 'wuh?' moments from the pens of the WotC illustrating crew?

Why is there a fork stuck next to her foot? The same artist drew another picture of a ogre that had a fork randomly sticking out of it's arm. What's with Sam Wood and forks?

It was a bugbear, actually. I found it really weird, too. o_O I think it meant he was in a tavern brawl, or something.

...what sane bouncer lets a bugbear into a tavern, anyway?

The fork in the road!

(Really. When I DM, I need to say "the road splits ahead." If I say "a fork in the road," I get seventeen "I PICK IT UP!"s.)

Don't be afraid to say fork in the road. When your group unanimously says "I pick it up", roll for initiative. Whoever wins gets the fork, The Dread Fork of Rhodes.

Legend says the he who takes up the fork can never put it down, and he is magically barred from thereafter eating any food and suffers until death from hunger, becoming more and more feeble as the weeks go on. Rumors of a "cure" are few, but then, no one's ever survived the Dread Fork of Rhodes.

Problem solved/ new story arc introduced. 2-for-1.

This demon has made other appearances, including as a flying monster with wings instead of legs in Final Fantasy VIII, and the cover of a Black Sabbath album.

Knowing the source of most of those 16th century Demon Manuals, it was probably invented by someone on drugs.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to imagine some evil god (or even a good one) smiting someone like that.

Though in reality, it's the Crushing Fist of Despite, from the BoVD. 9th level Evocation spell.

Hollyphant (l) and Maelephant (r) I believe.

Those are both Hollyphants. It's a shapeshifter.

This is the Maelephant http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ff_gallery/50080.jpg
