so a while back I swear I read in a raven loft book about something I believe was called an alchemical child (and some kind of greater version of it?), that was essentially a hyper realistic test tube clone of someone that was actually a construct with a unique trait called "life like" or something like that. but I've spent about 4 collective hours combing through various PDF's and cant for the life of me find it. any one have any leads?
Thanks in advance!

That's right. Philosophical Children keep racial hit dice but not class levels. Unlike a simulacrum, they are constructs. They can also gain experience points and class levels.
It will probably require DM adjudication because a DM will look at the construct immunities and probably say no, especially since you could have an alchemical child wizard, for example. Making the creatures living constructs like warforged might be a good compromise.
