At 1st level, a ranger gets wild empathy, favored enemy, and Track. Wild Empathy allows Diplomacy to be used on animals, with a bonus equal to his levels of ranger. Favored Enemy gives a bonus against an enemy that increases every 5 ranger levels.

Is there any feat, prestige class, etc. that would allow someone to get those same increases to Wild Empathy and Favored Enemy without having to continue in the ranger class? These bonuses aren't super-important or game-breaking but I'm wondering if there is a way to simply dip Ranger (or avoid Ranger altogether) and still have these bonuses increase.

This is not for an actual build, just thinking hypothetically.

Swift Hunter lets Ranger and Scout levels stack for favored enemy calculations and the number of favored enemies you get.

This is undoubtedly the best Ranger multiclassing feat, but here are the rest of them:

According to your linked thread, it's the only one that does what OP wanted (only half of what OP wanted, actually).

I recommend just taking the "Spiritual Connection" ACF. Speak with Animals/Plants even with limited uses will be more useful on the long run than just a few levels of Wild Empathy. So unless you are going to progress it I recommend doing the change.

From the SRD - Wild Empathy ( (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/ranger.htm#wildEmpathy)Ex (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#extraordinaryAbilities)) (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/ranger.htm#wildEmpathy)"A ranger can improve the attitude of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/diplomacy.htm) check to improve the attitude of a person. The ranger rolls 1d20 and adds his ranger level and his Charisma modifier to determine the wild empathy check result."

Bold is mine. It FUNCTIONS like a diplomacy check. Does not use the diplomancy skill.

If your want to get the most out of both the best bet is levels of ranger.

If you want to add something like precision damge the scout 3/ranger 17 wit Swift Hunter is about the best you could do.

FWIW, Theurgic Empathy feat (Dragon #325) allows to combine levels of Ranger and Bard for Wild Empathy checks
