I thought that "social identity" was the term I was looking for until I looked up the definition. Is there a term for identity within a group? Intragroup differentiation, rather than intragroup commonality. For example, how one sees oneself in terms of ones role within a community. I'm terrible at googling, and none of my searches are turning anything up.

Thanks in advance.

Not an expert by any means, but I would have thought "role" pretty much encapsulates the concept?

"Subset", perhaps? As in "A subset of the fandom".

Depending on the context you might also use "clique", "cabel" "circle", "faction"

Would "subgroup" fit what you're going for?
