so a chaotic evil soulborn gains : You gain immunity to any penalty, damage, or drain to your Strength.

does that mean that he is effectively immune to aging penalties (at least STR wise)?

I'd say yes. Soulborn can take the wins whereever it gets them

Looks pretty straightforward to me. It's a penalty, so they're immune to it.

Where it really gets fun is a tibbit soulborn. Turn into a cute fuzzy little kitty... that's still as strong as a strong human.

If racial ability modifiers are fair game, I'll raise you one: max the STR of a Sparrow Hengeyokai, and switch on Little Sparrow Mode. Now you have a cute, fluffy Fine-sized birdy with all a human's strength!

only tibbit works for that trick : hengeyokai have set stats in animal form

If you survive as a Soulborn long enough for aging to be a factor, I'd allow it. (You get Timeless Body at 19 anyway, but it seems cruel to require that much).

All that said, it's still probably not a good idea. You still take penalties to your Dex and Con, and Dex and especially Con are more important to a soulborn than Int, Wis, or Cha.

This is actually for a necropolitan build

starting as a venerable necropolitan was a no go for my DM but if I'm immune to STR damage and I can wear some sort of armor than the -6 to DEX for +3 to all mental stats is totally worth it.

While I understand this sentiment, you should also consider how this impacts higher-tier characters that can dip two levels of Soulborn as well!

With that said, the Tibbit interaction is probably stronger for most builds. -6 Dex due to aging is brutal when initiative is a thing.

Higher-tier characters are losing two levels of casting for it. There may be things worth losing two levels of casting to get but CE Soulborn bonuses aren't one of them.

I'd say that, the vast majority of the time, most characters will either care more about Dex and Con than their mentals, or also won't care about the Str. And if you find some corner case where that's not true, like an undead meldshaper, well, that's a corner case.

It's for a chameleon build.

Since I have to play a human and I'd like to maximize my INT and my WIS, it's pretty hard to get both going with a 32 pts buy.

And while I could argue I was a necropolitan that aged to venerable with some tables, that won't fly with my DM.

So my venerable silverbrow human has

STR 14
DEX 8 (+6 from points, -6 from age)
CON - (due to desecrate + altar I have 1d12 +2 hitpoints per level)
INT 19
WIS 19
CHA 11

I'd round up INT (for the skillpoints) then max out WIS

A soulborn 2/ Zhentarim soldier 3/Chameleon 10/ something 5 (still looking for a capstone class)

combine that with dragonscale husk and a +6 DEX item and I have all the DEX I need + armor that can be used while casting arcane spells
