First time posting here and would like some thoughts and possibly insights.

I'm wanting to make a female dwarven chef to travel with the party for a campaign our group's starting. My thoughts for this so far are:

1. She's VERY territorial about the kitchen she's in. As in if she thinks someone's in the way, she would physically throw them out the door while yelling "YOU'LL EAT WHEN IT'S GOOD AND READY, NOW GIT OUTTA MY KITCHEN!"

2. I was thinking that in combat, she could potentially use kitchen impliments for certain weapons and armor. Some ideas would be a rolling pin would be equivalent to a club or mace (depending on if she has a wooden, or even mable or stone one), the knives are essentially daggers, the carving knife might be a short sword, cleaver like a handaxe or battleaxe, meat tenderizer like a light hammer, and skillet would be like either a heavy mace or possibly heavy steel shield.

3. For skills, of course there would be the obvious: Survival, craft, and profession, with some knowledges.

So far I was thinking of giving her 1 lv barbarian for the rage (would help getting people out of her kitchen) and a couple levels of fighter or monk.

I've had a person mention Kensai, but I don't really see the draw or appeal to it much, but at the same time, wouldn't mind some kind of PrC

How would you feel about a monk > drunken master build?

You can add your unarmed strike dmg to your improvised weapon attacks. And the Drink like a Demon ability is imho a more fitting rage replacement^^.

Not dwarven, but I was planning to make one of my character's followers a Shifter chef, due to the following:

1. Shifting is described as "superficially similar to a barbarian’s rage."
2. One of the shifter traits, Dreamsight, gives "+2 bonus to Wisdom* and the ability to communicate with animals as if under the effect of a speak with animals spell. In addition, the khülen gains a +2 bonus on Handle Animal and wild empathy checks even while not shifting."

* And, thus, to Profession(Chef)

Thereby creating (depending on your interpretation and preference) either the Swedish Chef (especially when he's chasing the food around the kitchen) or Gordon Ramsay.

How about the Adamantine Chef (https://web.archive.org/web/20070711083929/http://wizo.wizards.com/ka/KnowledgeArcana09.pdf) PrC?

How about the Adamantine Chef PrC?

This..... actually looks pretty good.
Looking at the prereqs:
Knowledge (Nature) 4
Perform (cooking tricks) 3
Profession (Cook) 9
and a language outside our own race.

Seems like a bard would be good at this, but at the same time any class other than barbarians and fighters can reach it easier than most for the profession with a minimum CL of 6 (unless my math is wrong) Once any class has the 9 in Profession, they should be able to have the Knowledge and Perform easily.

You would dare even consider giving her a rolling pin crafted in wood? How many of those would she go through? Dozens? Hundreds? Good gods man, giver her something that will last an appreciable portion of her projected lifespan. Marble at a minimum, granite for preference...possibly even adamantite, you know, the stone ore that adamantine comes from. That would be a worthy kitchen implement...
