After reading the Gravekeeper I came with a doubt. When damage is stored in the blood pool, is it cutting your damage in half?

Eg. I deal 30 damage with my greatsword. Would I actually deal 30 and store 15 or, only deal 15 and store 15?

I'm pretty sure that no, the intent was that you deal full damage, you just get a benefit equal to half the damage you deal.
