So I was recently reading some of Diane Duane's Young Wizards series, and I was just wondering if anyone knew about a class or class modification that came close to the concept of wizardliness she describes.

Well, the closest in concept I can think of are truespeakers from Tome of Magic, but from what I've heard, I don't think it's all that great a match.

Hm. I haven't looked at the truespeaker in a while, but the general impression I got of the class wasn't that great.

Maybe I'll take another look, see what I can pull out.

The Bending system (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54063)on this board is pretty useful for this system as well. Just give them the ability to combine for free, extend the casting time by a bunch, decrease the DC's, and so on. It would take a while, especially to do the charms prevelant later in the series, but in that case, just make them completion items, with only a small exp cost, no monitary cost, only a few uses, and a LONG time to make.
