Does extra rage work with ferocity?

I would say it makes sense that it does, and I would rule that way if I were running a game, but from the most anal interpretation of RAW, no it does not.

ACFs, class variants, and substitution levels were not really accounted for when feats and other things were created. Using any optional rules variations will always reasonably require DM adjudication. That said, it isn't unreasonable for ferocity to benefit from the feat, or simply have another feat created.

This is pretty much what I was going to say. I think it'd be harsh for a DM to not allow it or an equivalent.

Exactly, if I was the DM I would look at the text and say "this definitely does not work; however, here is a homebrew feat you have access to. Extra Ferocity "

Where's the "ferocity" ability from? Some abilities have text that says that it works like Rage; if it does, that could be an argument for allowing Extra Rage to work as-is.

But even if not, a homebrew "Extra Ferocity" feat is probably fair.

In this case, it doesn't seem to have that text. Personally I'm pretty sure RAI would be that any rage-like ability substituted for rage would work with rage feats, but I don't have any direct evidence to back it up.

I don't disagree especially since Cityscape came out after Complete Warrior. Thanks for the feedback.
