Even though I don't remember your name.
A while back I asked the forum about creating a, "Grey Goo doomsday scenario (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_goo)" sort of character and got some advice about it. The ending result of that advice was Plasmoid Spore Druid.
And it's been everything I've ever wanted for our Out of the Abyss campaign.
The cell at the start? I just slid through the bars (Plasmoid).
Sneaking around and finding the keys? I turned into a tiny spider (Druid).
Food and healing comes from Goodberry- which I have reflavored into being minute alterations of the matter around me into beneficial forms. (Druid)
Enemy throws a Net on me? I just slide out of it (Plasmoid).
A fish is thrown into our boat? It disintegrates without me actually touching it (Druid). I informed the party this is how I 'eat' everything- to the predicted and enjoyable expressions of sheer horror.
Just about any spell can be reflavored into Grey Goo shenanigans- but Druids seem especially potent for this given a lot of the magic involves creating things that stick around.
I'm only Level 4 thus far and so my options are limited- but I can't wait to get more spells I can reflavor in this fashion. If anyone has suggestions for spells that are particularly ripe for this thematic- feel free to let me know.
